The Department of Homeland Security sent a message via their official X account, quoting a TMZ headline where Cardi jokingly threatened to "Jump ICE" at her upcoming concert.

Their response was a play on words referencing the musician's alleged past acts. "As long as she doesn't drug and rob our agents, we'll consider that an improvement over her past behavior," their tweet read.

This marked the beginning of a social media fiasco as fans took separate sides on the matter, some writing that the DHS had failed in their responsibility since they had not investigated what their message carried. Others took the rapper's side, stating that the department's tweet only showcased immaturity.

"The first Trump administration put Epstein in prison. The 2nd Trump administration released a million Epstein documents. Where was all this outrage during the Biden Autopen administration? You democrats are a bunch of phony fake a-s frauds," a comment read.

A notable comment with over a thousand likes echoed that high-profile people have been observably silent on this topic, and Cardi was the first to speak out.

They stated that everyone with a platform should not keep silent, but create more awareness. Some users stated that the rapper should address the issue raised by DHS rather than using the Epstein files as a means to deflect.

Cardi made a statement during her show's opening night in California, which carried political sentiment. At the Palm Desert, California, where her show was held, the rapper stopped midway through the performance of "La Cucaracha" to check on her Mexican and Guatemalan fans in the audience.

The Blast reported that the mom of four told fans that if any ICE agents walk into the venue seeking to cause a raid, they could get physical with the officials, not minding who they were or disrupting the show.

Her words and tone showed seriousness, and she emphasized that she was not joking, sharing that she came prepared with a bear mace and would not stand back if ICE agents made a move on her fans.

Cardi also gave a shout-out to Bad Bunny for displaying unity and strength of the Hispanic and Latino people via his Grammy Awards acceptance speech.

The recent Super Bowl, which featured different artists' performances during the halftime show, was held with a subtle nod at safety for the immigrant attendees.

Corey Lewandowski, who was an adviser to Trump's presidential campaigns, confirmed that U.S. ICE agents would be present at the event to fish out and apprehend illegal immigrants.

This announcement, which stated that people who are in the country outside their legal rights could be taken at the Super Bowl, added a sense of panic among the crowd. Lewandowski's words came a few days after Bad Bunny was announced to be performing during the halftime show.

The Blast shared that the "I like It" hitmaker was unfazed by the statement. He shared that his performance would reflect his culture, roots, and people. His decision to skip the United States as part of his world tour was also sealed after the adviser's announcement.

Last year, the rapper made waves online when she did not hold back with her claims against President Donald Trump.  She said he refused to help certain citizens, emphasizing the "poor people."

Cardi even stated demographics she claims the president does not favor. "Where the poor… the Black poor… the Spanish poor.. the Asians …the indians.. He dont give a f-ck about none of y'all motherf-cker," she said during a livestream.

The rapper also said that people like herself are not exempt from unfair treatment because being poor does not only refer to those who cannot afford basic amenities. In her opinion, Trump feels that even millionaires like herself are also poor.

The Blast noted that Cardi's complaint also extended to the issues of the economy, as she stated that the cost of living keeps tilting upwards.

How will the DHS respond to Cardi B's latest remark?
