Bijou Phillips is in dire need of a second kidney transplant!

The ex-wife of disgraced actor Danny Masterson has been hospitalized after suffering multiple complications from her first kidney transplant.

According to new reports, Bijou Phillips is under care at UCLA Health but desperately needs a donor to overcome her health crisis.

Phillips' representation shed light on her situation, revealing the former teen model is currently hospitalized at UCLA Health. She is under the care of Dr. Anjay Rastogi at the hospital's CORE Kidney Unit and is undergoing dialysis.

According to the rep, Masterson's ex-wife desperately needs a kidney donor as the organ she received from her first kidney transplant has since failed. She reportedly got the kidney from a friend in 2017, but it ended up being another complicated health journey.

Phillips' rep told TMZ that she suffered multiple complications due to the kidney, including the BK virus. The latter led to both cellular and antibody rejection, until the kidney ultimately failed. Phillips, per her rep, is stable but "time is of the essence" to save her life.

The outlet noted that Phillips' battle with kidney problems started from birth as she arrived on earth with underdeveloped kidneys. Due to this birth defect, she had to spend the first three months of her life in the NICU on dialysis, and she has since battled kidney disease.

In 2017, Phillips' ex-husband proudly celebrated her successful kidney transplant in a heartwarming post. PEOPLE reported that he shared an image of his then-wife with the unidentified male friend who donated his kidney to her. The pair were holding hands while lying on their respective hospital beds.

Masterson noted in the post's caption that Phillips had been slowly dying from an incurable kidney disease for the past seven years. Fortunately, "a tall angel" gifted them a miracle, and they were grateful for a 100 percent successful transplant.

In his post, Masterson expressed his gratitude to the donor, noting that his daughter with Phillips would have a mother thanks to him. His then-wife echoed similar sentiments in a lengthy message, thanking her friend for saving her life.

Phillips reflected on her health struggles in the post, revealing that the kidney donation was something she needed for a long time. "Dialysis has been a blessing, and also extremely hard. I got an infection and am on my second catheter," she shared.

"This is major surgery, FSGS is scary, but I'm soooo intensely Grateful for my husband, my daughter, our Family!" Phillips raved. Unfortunately, their perfect little group of three fell apart in September 2023, when Masterson was convicted on two out of three counts of rape.

The Blast covered the end of the former couple's marriage, reporting that Phillips had filed for separation following Masterson's guilty verdict and subsequent 30-year sentence. Court documents revealed that she dropped the divorce papers on September 18, 2023.

Phillips' decision came as a shock to many as she stood by Masterson's side throughout the rape case. In fact, a week after the sentencing, a source alleged she was saddened by the guilty verdict but would not divorce the actor and would continue to support him.

The source also claimed that Phillips was working on appeals with Masterson's lawyer. The latter was accused of rape by three women, who noted the crimes happened 20 years ago and left them with significant scars and long-lasting trauma. On that note, the women begged for punishment that matched their suffering.

Two years after her divorce filing, The Blast shared that a judge had restored Phillips and Masterson's single status in October 2025. After cutting her romantic ties to the disgraced actor, Phillips filed papers to change their daughter's last name.

According to the documents, Phillips wanted her daughter's last name to be changed from Masterson to hers. She not only wanted a fresh start for her daughter but also started a new chapter for herself with businessman Jamie Mazur.

Phillips and Mazur were spotted getting cozy on a date night in early 2025, with a source claiming their romance was "real." The pair had allegedly been together since the summer after meeting through friends. "He's added a spark to her life. She seems much happier and more relaxed lately," the source raved.
