Jimmy Kimmel believes Donald Trump’s anger about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX performance is misplaced.
After the highly anticipated show concluded, reactions poured in from all sides, with the U.S. president issuing a scathing review. Kimmel, however, refused to stay silent, calling out Trump for focusing on what he considers the wrong issues.
Meanwhile, despite the backlash, the halftime spectacle has continued to earn recognition.
Jimmy Kimmel Roasts Donald Trump's Review of Bad Bunny's Halftime Show
The late-night host didn't hold back while addressing Trump's reaction, suggesting the president's priorities were questionable.
"Bad Bunny got a bad review from our bad president, unfortunately," Kimmel said during Monday's episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” He then read aloud Trump's remarks, in which he claimed the choreography was unsettling for young viewers.
However, Kimmel appeared to doubt that Trump was actually concerned about children who viewed the show.
"This is a man that paid off a porn star who spanked him with his own face on a magazine… He's offended by the halftime [show]," Kimmel fired.
"This is a guy who's okay with this being the release of the Epstein files," Kimmel added, displaying a heavily redacted page. "He's offended for the children."
Kimmel then highlighted how divided viewers were over the same performance, expressing amusement at the differing opinions. He joked that while some people saw it as a celebration of immigrants chasing the American Dream, others reacted as if they had just witnessed something apocalyptic and horrifying.
What Donald Trump Said About Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Performance

Kimmel's response came shortly after Trump took to his Truth Social platform to slam the Puerto Rican star's February 8 set. According to The Blast, the commander-in-chief argued the show lacked creativity and failed to meet the country's entertainment standards.
Trump wrote, "Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”
The 79-year-old then turned his attention to the NFL, criticizing the production as uninspiring and demanding that they replace the new kickoff rule.
Congressman Andy Ogles Appeared To Support Donald Trump’s Review

The U.S. leader was not alone in his opinion that Bad Bunny’s set was inappropriate for kids.
Congressman Andy Ogles weighed in with a similar argument, calling for a formal congressional investigation into the NFL and NBC for their involvement in the show.
As The Blast reported, Ogles took to his X page, alleging that the performance was “indecent” and that both organizations had prior knowledge of the show but approved the broadcast anyway.
He claimed that kids were shown "explicit displays of gay sexual acts, women gyrating provocatively, and Bad Bunny shamelessly grabbing his crotch while dry-humping the air." He also pointed at the lyrics, claiming they encouraged depravity that should not be displayed on national TV.
Other Criticism and Praise From Celebrities About Bad Bunny’s Show

Trump and Ogles were not the only ones to say something negative about the dancing.
The Blast reported that “Real Housewives Of New York City” alum Jill Zarin took issue with the rapper’s constant grabbing of his crotch, calling it “inappropriate” given that kids were watching.
She addressed the language and his choice of crew members, claiming they were intended to make a political statement.
On the other hand, there were good reviews from John Mellencamp, Meghan McCain, and Governor Gavin Newsom. Mellencamp shared he was impressed by it despite not understanding the language, while McCain questioned why critics were hating on the show.
Bad Bunny's Halftime Performance Triggers Citywide Synchronized Flush

Amid the wave of controversy, the "Dakiti" singer's Super
Bowl appearance also hit milestones. Per The Blast, NYC water officials revealed data showing a noticeable decline in water consumption across the five boroughs during the halftime show, suggesting viewers stayed glued to their screens.
However, once the performance ended, usage surged, totaling 761,719 toilets flushing almost simultaneously. Many fans applauded the star for being so captivating that people skipped bathroom breaks.
Another groundbreaking moment from the night was the inclusion of a Puerto Rican Sign Language interpreter for the first time, marking a historic step for representation on the Super Bowl stage.
