Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show may be over, but the controversial opinions about the performance have not stopped.
The singer gave a tremendous show to the teeming audience at Levi Stadium, California, on Sunday night, which Congressman Andy Ogles has now found a moral loophole in.
Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show also had the heavy hitters of Hollywood and politics divided on topics like themes and lack of subtitles.
Congressman Slams Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Performance With 'Smut' Claims

In a lengthy tweet shared by Ogles on his X page, he called for an immediate formal congressional inquiry into the NFL and NBC immediately about their involvement in the rapper's show.
According to Ogles, the bodies had prior knowledge about performance and deliberately approved what he described as an "indecent broadcast."
Ogles continued that America's culture will not be mocked without consequences, adding that kids were forced to "endure explicit displays of gay sexual acts, women gyrating provocatively, and Bad Bunny shamelessly grabbing his crotch while dry-humping the air."
The congressman continued that Bunny's lyrics also openly encouraged unspeakable depravities and such indecent acts should not be displayed on national channels.
The Congressman Named Specific Tracks That Were Problematic In The Performance

The 54-year-old Republican congressman from Tennessee went into more detail about the performance, which aired on February 8. He made mention of Bunny's track, Safaera, which, according to him, referenced sexually explicit themes and "analingus."
Ogles then picked a bone with the choreography routine done to "Yo Perreo Sola," which he insisted featured oversexualized movement like "widespread twerking, grinding, pelvic thrusts, and other sexually suggestive conduct."
The congressman noted that despite the set being heavily performed in Spanish, it did not reduce the explicit nature of the material; it increased the broadcaster's obligation to translate the content before airing.
He insisted that it was impossible for the NFL and NBC to claim they did not have an idea of what would be performed, but they still went ahead to broadcast it.
Rihanna's Super Bowl Performance Was Also Hit With Some Complaints

The Fenty Beauty founder, who broke the internet for her performance after a long musical hiatus and the announcement of her second pregnancy, did not get a perfect review all around.
As shared by The Blast, Rihanna's performance was compared to some of Sam Smith's and Kim Petras' controversial performances. A critic stressed that kids should not be exposed to such illicit content, nor should adults throw decency and self-respect away to view it.
Another conservative commentator revealed that they had to turn the television screen off at some point during the performance. The "Diamonds" singer, who appeared very modestly dressed for the performance in a red loose jumpsuit, left most of her performance to the backup singers due to her pregnancy.
Despite this, a critic could not help but point out some of her suggestive dance moves. Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime performance received 103 complaints in total, trailing thousands behind Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson's 2004 performance, which received 540,000 queries.
Kendrick Lamar's 2025 Super Bowl Performance Drew Complaints Of Anti-American Rhetorics

The rapper, who took the set for last year's edition of Football's biggest night, recorded a whopping 133.5 million viewership, and the critics did not spare their opinions either.
Lamar, who is famous for his bold and expressive creative choices, had creatives kicking against his choice of Black-only performance. As reported by The Blast, he also slammed his decision to spotlight the moment where the American flag was split.
The rapper also came under the heavy hammer of public opinion when he performed his viral "Not Like Us" song, where he threw shade at Drake. According to critics, he had spun a false narrative of the "God's Plan" rapper being a pedophile on national television.
Serena Williams, who made a cameo during the performance, was also slammed for making gang-affiliated signs on television. At the end of the night, Lamar's halftime show raked in 122 FCC complaints, slightly higher than Rihanna's 103.
Bad Bunny's Performance Earned Shiny Reviews From Hollywood A-Listers

Despite the controversies that surrounded the rapper's halftime show, several celebrities in Hollywood gave their thumbs-up. John Mellencamp had shared that the Puerto Rican rapper had done well for standing up for his country.
Songwriter Kacey Musgraves took a jab at Turning Point USA's halftime show, stating that she felt more proud about Bunny's performance than Kid Rock's stunt at the former. Meghan McCain also gave the "DtMF" rapper his flowers, emphasizing that everything in life should not be ruined with politics.
She even questioned the taste of anyone who has an issue with the iconic performance. Martin Luther King III, the son of the late Martin Luther King Jr., equally praised the Puerto Rican singer and affirmed that his late father would have approved his message of love and unity.
Governor Gavin Newsom also thanked Bunny for delivering such a beautiful show, alongside United States Representative Jasmine Crockett, who praised the rapper for setting the bar so high.
