The search for missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues.
As of Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the mother of "TODAY" host Savannah Guthrie has been missing for 10 days, and the reported deadline for the family to pay her ransom has officially expired.
During a segment on the popular NBC morning talk show program, an FBI representative opened up about the case and shared that they're unaware of communication between Savannah Guthrie, her family members, and the suspected kidnappers.
FBI Reveals It's 'Not Aware' Of Communication Between The Alleged Kidnappers And Savannah Guthrie's Family

According to a report from TMZ, the FBI "has no knowledge of any continued communication" between the Guthries and "anyone believed to have kidnapped" Nancy.
"The FBI is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers," the statement read.
Elsewhere in the statement, the FBI confirmed that its agents had been working around the clock to locate Nancy and reunite her with her children.
Federal Officials Working On A 24-Hour Command To Bring Nancy Guthrie Home

TMZ reported that federal officials are establishing a "24-hour command post" in Arizona to piece together information that will lead them to Nancy's location. Arizona officials have also reportedly secured assistance from additional officers, including FBI agents from across the United States.
The search for Nancy Guthrie now includes "negotiators, analytic teams, and investigators following up on tips."
The stakes were heightened after a local reporter from the Tucson, Arizona, ABC affiliate KGUN 9 shared early during the search that their news station received a ransom letter from the suspected abductors that demanded $6 million by 5 PM on February 9.
Other reports have noted that the alleged ransom letter included an "or else," generating even more fear and uncertainty for those heavily involved in the search.
One Detail Is Causing An Expert To Question Whether The Reported Ransom Note Is Real

Some law enforcement officials and experts question the authenticity of the ransom note, including former FBI agent Michael Harrigan, according to The Blast.
In a separate interview, Harrigan questioned whether the alleged ransom letter could be "a scam," specifically because the note demanded the $6 million in USD.
For Harrigan, noting the money should be sent in American currency leads him to believe Nancy's potential abductors may not even be in the United States.
"If you're domestic, why would you ever put 'USD?' You put 6 million," Harrigan said. "Why would you use that if you're a domestic person? That points to somebody who might be potentially outside the country."

Savannah Guthrie appeared in an emotional video shortly after the ransom letter emerged, vowing to pay the funds should Nancy's possible abductors provide proof of life. In the video, Savannah's siblings, Annie and Camron, also spoke, pleading with the suspected captors to return their mother before urging their mom to stay strong.
On February 9, just hours before the 5 PM deadline, Savannah shared another Instagram video in which she asked her followers across the country to help her family locate her mother.
The talk show host even shared a message of hope, stating, "We believe that somehow, some way, she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place. We believe our mom is still out there."
"I'm coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you're far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there's anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement," she added. "We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help."
