According to PEOPLE, the location, previously known as "The Ice House," was renamed to "The Winter House."

"Our hospitality concept was designed to be a private space free of distractions where athletes, their families, and friends can come together to celebrate the unique experience of the Winter Games," the statement read. "This name captures that vision and connects to the season and the event."

Drama Erupts Just Before The Winter Olympics

According to NBC, just weeks before the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding was taken into police custody on accusations of being a leader of a violent drug trafficking ring.

Law enforcement officials alleged that Wedding is a member of the Sinaloa Cartel and had been hiding in Mexico for over a decade while "running and participating in a transnational drug trafficking operation."

FBI Director Kash Patel claimed that Wedding shipped "hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and Southern California to the United States and Canada."

Legal documents state that Wedding's alleged criminal history dates back to 2008, when he traveled to San Diego to buy cocaine from an undercover FBI agent. Wedding was arrested then, found guilty of conspiracy to distribute, and was sentenced to 48 months in prison.

Per the documents, Wedding allegedly began his illegal drug ring after his release. 36 people have since been arrested in connection with the organization. Additionally, more than 2,300 kilograms of cocaine, 44 kilograms of methamphetamine, 44 kilograms of fentanyl, eight firearms, and over $55 million of illicit "assets" were seized in the investigation.
