Jake Paul Under Fire For Hypocrisy After ‘Toddler-Level Logic’ ICE Statement
By Kelly Coffey-Behrens on February 8, 2026 at 12:30 PM EST

Jake Paul is facing swift backlash after inserting himself into the ongoing debate surrounding Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and critics wasted no time telling him to take several seats. The YouTuber-turned-boxer took to X with a series of posts defending ICE while taking a shot at celebrities who’ve spoken out against the agency, including Billie Eilish.
Jake Paul’s ICE Hot Take Backfires After Billie Eilish Jab

“If you don’t like ICE then you can’t call 911 when you’re in trouble,” Paul wrote. “If you don’t respect law enforcement agents, then you shouldn’t depend on them.”
He then escalated things by dragging Eilish into the conversation directly, writing, “When Billie Eyelash gets her home broken into, it’s not gonna be f-ck ICE I can promise you that.”
The comments immediately lit up social media, and not in Paul’s favor.
Internet Roasts Paul’s ICE Argument As ‘Toddler-Level Logic’

Critics were quick to point out what they saw as flaws in Paul’s argument. "ICE is a bunch of rejects who couldn’t make it at Quanico, Police Academy, Military, Fire Academy, and whatever else," one user claimed. "They do not represent the law because they are actively trying to break it. Police and ICE are not the same thing, you unintelligent swine. Yeah, what she said was stupid, but so are you."
As another pointed out, "ICE isn't 911, LOL." Someone else replied, "ICE is not the police, you stupid, brain-dead f-ck." For the record, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is a federal agency focused on enforcing U.S. immigration laws, not local crimes, and operates separately from routine police work.
Local police are responsible for public safety and responding to emergency calls (such as when someone dials 911 for help), which is very different from the federal immigration enforcement carried out by ICE.
Critics Accuse Jake Paul of Hypocrisy Over ICE Comments From Puerto Rico

Others zeroed in on Paul’s own living situation, accusing him of hypocrisy for lecturing Americans about federal agencies while residing in Puerto Rico, where residents do not pay federal income taxes.
“Jake is lecturing the rest of us. Who pays federal income taxes, from his home in Puerto Rico, where he moved to avoid the taxes that fund the federal law enforcement he purports to support,” one post read. “Money talks… you know the rest.”
Another commenter was even more blunt, writing, “Bruh, you moved to Puerto Rico to avoid paying for 911. Sit this one out.”
Even Supporters Say Jake Paul Undercut His Point With Billie Eilish Shot

Some users acknowledged Paul’s broader point about hypocrisy but still criticized how he framed the argument, especially the personal jab at Eilish. “Jake Paul dropping the ‘Eyelash’ burn while defending ICE ... Fair point on hypocrisy, celebs trash agencies then dial 911 like anyone else."
They added, "But Billie’s Grammy rant was about policy and border issues, not hating all cops.” As The Blast reported, Eilish recently made headlines after using her Grammy acceptance speech to criticize ICE and immigration policy.
Paul’s Olympic Rants Escalate As He Targets Team USA Skier

Paul’s ICE comments weren’t the only controversy he sparked that day. Earlier, he took aim at American Olympic skier Hunter Hess after Hess publicly admitted he had “mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now.” Paul responded bluntly on X, writing, “Wow pls shut the f-ck up. From all true Americans. If you don’t want to represent this country, go live somewhere else.”
The comment added fuel to an already tense Olympic atmosphere, especially as Paul was later spotted attending the U.S. women’s hockey game against Finland alongside JD Vance. Team USA dominated the matchup with a 5–0 win, but the crowd reaction to the political presence nearby told a different story.
JD Vance Booed During Team USA Entrance At Milan Olympics Opening Ceremony

Vance, who attended the game alongside Second Lady Usha Vance, has not been warmly received during the Milan Games. At Friday night’s opening ceremony inside San Siro Stadium, audible boos broke out when the broadcast briefly cut to the Vances during Team USA’s entrance.
The reaction to Vance’s appearance comes at a time when tensions remain high back in the United States. Ongoing controversy surrounding immigration enforcement, including recent tragedies involving federal agents, has fueled protests and public anger in several cities, making it difficult for some viewers to separate the Olympic celebration from what’s unfolding at home.
