Drake may be one of the most famous men on the planet, but according to social media celebrity Leila Santese, their story started in one of the most unexpectedly normal ways possible: a DM. Santese told The Blast that the rapper first reached out after spotting her during a Nelk Boys livestream in London, and the message came fast.

“He first messaged me after that Nelk Boys stream in London. I guess he saw me on camera or whatever and literally within like an hour he was in my DMs,” she told The Blast. “I didn’t think it was real at first.”

At first, she laughed it off. But then the messages kept coming, and they were anything but casual. “This man said, ‘I’m trying to be in your life for real,’ and I remember laughing because who even talks like that?” she recalled. “But then he kept going. He was saying stuff like he’d fold my clothes, run my errands, quit rap if I asked him to.”

That’s when it started to feel surreal. Santese says she immediately screenshotted the conversation and sent it to her best friend just to confirm it was actually happening.

Despite her nerves, Santese eventually agreed to meet up. The two went on what she described as an "intimate dinner date," one that pushed her far outside her comfort zone. “I honestly was kind of nervous to go to dinner with him also because I am very shy when meeting new people,” she said. “This was very much out of my comfort zone.”

But the night quickly put her at ease. “He was actually very nice. He really is a gentleman,” Santese explained. “We just got to know each other, and then he invited me to an afterparty and introduced me to so many of his friends.”

What surprised her most wasn’t the glamor, but how easygoing Drake was in person. “While we were hanging out, I was surprised at how easygoing he is,” she added.

The dinner itself was sweet, but Santese says the real standout moment came afterward, once they arrived at the afterparty. “He literally walked me around the room introducing me to everyone like, ‘This is Leila,’” she said. “He made sure people knew my name, not just ‘that girl he brought.’”

For Santese, that detail mattered more than anything. “I know that sounds small, but when you’re around industry guys, that almost never happens,” she explained. “A lot of men in this space treat women like props, and it didn’t feel like that with him at all.”

She says Drake stayed attentive throughout the night, even when he was constantly being pulled into conversations. “He kept looking over, asking if I was good, if I needed anything,” she said. “It was unexpected.”

Santese is clear that she’s not putting labels or expectations on whatever this connection may become. “I don’t know where it’s going, if anywhere,” she admitted. “But I’m glad I said yes to that dinner.”

For someone who describes herself as naturally shy, the experience served as a reminder that sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone pays off. “I almost bailed last minute,” she said. “But hanging out with him reminded me that sometimes it’s okay to let someone surprise you.”

During a July 2025 livestream on Kick, Forgeard appeared to reveal more than he intended while recapping a past Nelk Boys stream in London that Drake had been watching in real time. According to Forgeard, the rapper had been actively texting him throughout the day following the stream.

During the livestream, he revealed, “And he said, he’s like, ‘Leila’s so f-cking hot.’ He’s like, ‘I’d fold that girl’s clothes for six months. I’d quit rap for that.’”
