OnlyFans creator and influencer Sophie Rain is firing back at Florida state governor hopeful James Fishback after the Republican candidate publicly revealed he joined Tinder, claiming it was a way to connect with “young female voters.” Fishback, who is 31 years old, recently shared a screenshot of his Tinder profile on social media, writing that he had joined the dating app to “meet young female voters where they are” and promote his vision for family-focused policies in Florida. But the move immediately drew criticism.
Sophie Rain Calls GOP Candidate’s Tinder Tactic ‘Creepy’

Rain was among the loudest voices pushing back. “This isn’t outreach. This is voter exploitation,” Rain said. “‘Young female voters,’ you’re not campaigning. You’re preying.”
Rain, who has previously clashed with Fishback over his proposed 50 percent “sin tax” on OnlyFans earnings, accused the candidate of using women as political tools rather than treating them as constituents. “Women aren’t props for your outdated family fantasy,” she said. “We’re not steppingstones for your political ambitions. It’s creepy.”
She went on to call for Fishback to end his campaign altogether, stating, “Fishback, it is time for you to drop out.”

Fishback, a long-shot Republican candidate hoping to replace outgoing Governor Ron DeSantis, defended his approach by framing it as unconventional voter engagement. “I’ve joined @Tinder to meet young female voters where they are, and share my plan to make it easier for them to get married, buy a home, and raise a family,” Fishback wrote.
He also promoted what he called his “hottest take,” arguing that Florida should “offer paid maternity leave to all moms.” However, the rollout quickly unraveled. After claiming he had “run out of likes,” Fishback asked supporters to donate so he could upgrade to Tinder Plus and “see who likes my profile," a move that only intensified criticism online.

Social media users blasted the tactic as awkward and inappropriate. “This screams incel,” one post read. Another added, “You are seriously the single MOST cringeworthy person to ever run for public office.”
The controversy also revived scrutiny of Fishback’s past. According to NBC News, a Florida school district previously cut ties with Fishback after a woman accused him of pursuing her when she was 17 and he was 27. She later filed for an order of protection in 2025. Fishback has denied the allegations.
“These allegations from several years ago are completely false,” he said. “I have never been arrested, charged, or convicted of any crime.”
Sophie Rain Slams Florida Candidate’s ‘Sexist’ OnlyFans Tax As Feud Escalates
NEW: Florida gubernatorial candidate James Fishback proposes an Only Fans 'Sin Tax' of 50% for OF creators in Florida, says the money will be used to fund the education system.

Rain has been a vocal critic of Fishback’s platform, particularly his proposal to heavily tax adult content creators, a policy he argues would fund teacher raises and improved school lunches across the state.
As The Blast previously reported, Fishback's proposed OnlyFans tax did not sit well with Rain, who has repeatedly called it sexist and economically uninformed. “I have not heard of this guy until now, and I have lived in Florida all my life. He’s looking for clout,” Rain told The Blast at the time. “First of all, imposing a tax on OnlyFans girls is quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. I already pay my taxes, millions in taxes, actually."
Rain also pointed out Florida’s central role in the creator economy, arguing that the proposal would likely backfire as “Florida is OnlyFans central."

Rain didn’t hold back when addressing Fishback’s proposed OnlyFans “sin tax,” making it clear she wasn’t buying his reasoning. “The purpose of the sin tax in economics is to disincentivize and deter a behavior,” Fishback previously told NXR Studios in January. “I don't want young women... selling their bodies to sick men online.”
Rain has strongly rejected that framing. “This is what happens when you let personal bias drive your platform,” she said. “You go from attacking women’s choices to begging for Tinder likes. It’s embarrassing.”
