As an athlete, you live and breathe by a playbook.
As an actor, you live and breathe by a script.
So, it’s no surprise actress Shailene Woodley and NFL QB Aaron Rodgers had a game plan in place before they went public with their relationship.
The “Fault In Our Stars” actress recently opened up about her relationship to the football player to The Hollywood Reporter.
I've got a game plan!
If you aren’t familiar with this particular Hollywood “IT” couple, let The Blast fill you in.
Their relationship, once public, seemed very out of left field (pun intended).
The two had never been spotted out together by paparazzi prior to their surprise engagement announcement; however, they did get together during the pandemic and subsequent quarantine, so that’s most likely why nobody ever caught them out and about.
Rodgers announced he was engaged at the NFL Honors on Saturday, February 6.
During his acceptance speech for the 2020 Most Valuable Player Award he said, “2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments. One hundred-eighty straight days of having my nose hair scraped, a plan for very little fans or no stands the entire season, I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career."
At the time he did not disclose who his fiancée was, but Internet sleuths were able to figure out it was Woodley.
Obviously, there was a method to this surprise engagement madness, which Woodley shed light on to THR.
Woodley and Rodgers’ game plan was to keep their engagement a secret as long as possible so that they could relish in their engagement.
She told the outlet, “When we announced that we were engaged, we wanted to do that only because we didn't want someone else to do it before we did."
Woodley continued, “And we didn't do it for months and months after we had become engaged, but the reaction to it was really a lot, and so we were like, ‘Let's just politely decline [to talk about the relationship] for a little while and live in our little bubble.'"
According to THR, the couple met through friends and grew a strong bond during the pandemic.

I guess it it was good for something… right?
Woodley described how they were able to fly under the radar while out in public… MASKS!
"You could travel, but you had masks on," Woodley recalled. "There was a sense of anonymity that otherwise I don't think we would have had. We were really able to get to know one another the way we wanted to get to know one another and not have any noise or chaos around us."
Both Woodley and Rodgers are intensely private about their personal lives with the actress even saying, “I didn’t want fame.”
While they don’t over publicize their LOVE-lihood on social media, they have been photographed at Disney World, vacationing in Hawaii and Woodley showed support for her man during his “Jeopardy!” hosting gig.
