Swifties everywhere have something to look forward to, as Taylor Swift just announced the release date and time for the music video of her second single, "Opalite," from the album "The Life of a Showgirl."
The announcement sent fans into a frenzy, with fans eagerly counting down to the release.
Taylor Swift's 'Opalite' Video Drops On February 6

On February 4, Swift announced, via her official website, that the music video for "Opalite" will be available for viewing at 8 a.m. ET on February 6. It will exclusively debut on Spotify Premium and Apple Music. The music video will make its way to YouTube two days later, on February 8 at 8 a.m. ET.
The announcement page also has a countdown clock, marking the time until the music video goes live.
Fans went into a tizzy and expressed their excitement on social media, with one saying, "Do you hear me screaming?!?!?! This showgirl is so ready!" and another one commenting, "I am so ready for this!"
Moreover, fans can pre-order the seven-inch "Opalite" vinyl, which comes in a blue pearlescent color, for $10.99
'Opalite' Reached No. 2 On The Billboard Chart

Swift's 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 after its release on October 3, 2025. The first single from the album, "The Fate of Ophelia," debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 the same week of the album's release.
Meanwhile, "Opalite" charted on the No. 2 spot, which, to date, is its highest position on the chart. Many anticipate that with the upcoming release of its music video, it will eventually reach the top spot.
The Billboard Hot 100 calculates rankings of songs weekly based on physical and digital sales, radio airplay, as well as audio and video streaming, per Billboard. In December last year, YouTube announced that it would be withdrawing its streaming data from Billboard charts effective January, which may be the reason why Swift opted to debut her new music video via Apple and Spotify.
Taylor Swift Explains The Meaning Of 'Opalite'

While promoting her new album last year, Swift talked about the inspiration behind "Opalite" in an interview with Hits Radio.
According to the singer, "Opalite is a song about forgiving yourself for having gone through something that didn't pan out the way you wanted it to. It's giving yourself permission to not have it all figured out or not marry the first person you ever dated."
"Opalite" is also connected to Swift's fiancé, Travis Kelce, who was born in October, making opal his birthstone.
As Swift told Capital FM in October 2025, she has always loved that stone, adding, "I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor. [Opalite is] a man-made opal, and happiness can also be man-made, too. So that's kind of what the song is about, kind of the juxtaposition of those two."
Kelce shared his thoughts about "Opalite" in his podcast "New Heights," telling his brother Jason Kelce that it's his favorite track in the album, at least at that time. "Every time it comes on, I always catch myself. It's just so much fun to listen to, man. I've been dancing throughout the house," he enthusiastically shared.
Taylor Swift Will Be Inducted Into The Songwriters Hall Of Fame

As previously reported by The Blast, Swift will officially be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June. She will be honored alongside other notable songwriters, including Gene Simmons, Alanis Morissette, and Kenny Loggins.
It's a big milestone for the 36-year-old global superstar, as she is the youngest female inductee in the organization's history. Overall, Stevie Wonder holds the record for the youngest inductee, being inducted at just 33 years old in 1983.
