The NFL star recently teased fans about a possible engagement with the female rapper. However, he had one condition before popping the big question.

Stefon Diggs's comments about proposing to Cardi B come over a month after he made headlines for a strangulation case. He was accused of physically attacking his former chef.

On Monday, February 2, Diggs was queried about his relationship with the "WAP" hitmaker during the Super Bowl media availability. When a reporter asked if he would consider putting a ring on Cardi B if his team won the Super Bowl, he replied:

"It's on the agenda, maybe, right? Right?"

PEOPLE reported that the New England Patriots wide receiver joked about needing the Super Bowl championship ring before considering a proposal. "I gotta get mine first," Diggs added. He and Cardi B have been dating for several months now and welcomed a son in September 2025.

In January, Diggs and his teammates earned their place at the 2026 Super Bowl and will face off against the Seattle Seahawks on February 8. The Blast reported that Cardi B braved the cold weather to celebrate the New England Patriots achievement.

According to the police incident report covered by The Blast, Diggs' former chef initially reported the alleged assault on December 16, 2025. She claimed the physical altercation occurred on December 2 over their differences about her owed dues.

The former chef claimed she was owed salary, a dispute she and Diggs had allegedly been talking about via texts. However, on the fateful day, he approached her to have a physical conversation about the issue while she was in her bedroom in his private residence.

The alleged victim accused Diggs of becoming increasingly angry during their discussion until he eventually became physical. First, he slapped her across the face before he reportedly "tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow around her neck." She recalled his grip tightened when she tried to fight back.

A month before his former chef accused him of assault, The Blast reported that Diggs had been called out by an influencer for scathing crimes. Christopher Blake Griffith claimed the athlete had offered him candies laced with drugs at a house party in 2023.

Griffith alleged that Diggs drugged, harassed, and then attempted to kill him after he refused his sexual advances. "I never thought that the next step would be my life being threatened because you got turned down," the influencer lamented.

Diggs fired back with a libel lawsuit, accusing Griffith of spreading a fabricated story about the 2023 incident. He confirmed that multiple social media personalities had been in his home for a party, but there were no inappropriate interactions with Griffith.
