Security has reportedly been intensified around "Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and other NBC on-air personalities following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Network insiders say the measures are precautionary as NBC works closely with law enforcement amid growing concerns about Nancy's safety.

The news of the buffed-up security comes amid reports that there was blood found at Savannah Guthrie's mother's home, increasing suspicions of a possible "kidnapping or abduction."

"Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and several NBC on-air personalities have had their security buffed up after the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

According to a report, insiders shared that the network has taken precautionary steps and is working closely with law enforcement as the situation continues to unfold.

"This is not routine," one senior network insider shared. "NBC security has been in active talks with law enforcement all day. This is being treated with extreme caution."

Additional security has reportedly been put in place at NBC studios, during travel, and at private locations connected to on-air personalities, sources claim.

While the measures are centered on Savannah and her family, they also extend to other members of the "Today" show team.

"When something like this happens, you widen the circle," a source explained. "You don't assume anything — you prepare for everything."

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the atmosphere at the network is described as serious and subdued.

"Everyone is shaken," another insider noted. "Savannah is devastated, but she's also being protected. The network is fully behind her."

Investigators say evidence discovered at the Arizona home of Savannah's 84-year-old mother has raised serious concerns about her safety.

According to the New York Post, blood was found inside the residence along with signs of forced entry, prompting authorities to investigate "a possible kidnapping or abduction." Officials have not confirmed whose blood was recovered.

Nancy was reported missing on Sunday after failing to attend church services. She had returned home from dinner the night before and was last seen that evening.

"At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly [in the] middle of the night," Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Kevin Adger told the Los Angeles Times. "Detectives are looking into a possible kidnapping or abduction."

Authorities say Nancy's car and cellphone were left behind at the scene. Investigators hope data from the phone may help establish a clearer timeline.

Police have also announced a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and are asking the public to share any relevant images, videos, or tips.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos made a direct appeal to anyone involved. "Just call us. Let her go. Just call us. The family will tell you, there's no questions asked here," Nanos told NBC News. "We don't need another bad, tragic ending."

Officials also noted that Nancy has limited mobility and is unable to walk more than 50 yards on her own and requires daily medication, making the situation especially urgent.

They warned that going without the medication for an extended period could be life-threatening. "We're doing all we can to try to locate her," Nanos said. "Every tool we have, we will use."

As the search continues, Savannah has asked the public for support and assistance.

The "Today" co-anchor was absent from the show on Monday, with her colleagues sharing a statement on her behalf.

"I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support," she said. "Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom."

Guthrie added, "We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone, anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's office at 520-351-4900."

Savannah later also sent a message on Instagram, asking followers to continue praying for her mother.

"We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope," she wrote. "We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him."

She continued by thanking those who have joined her family in prayer: "Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant."

Savannah concluded, "Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you."
