Melania Trump is not letting her eyes off her son Barron Trump just yet and has hinted that he still needs supervision despite being 19 years old.
During an interview, the first lady emphasized that even at her son's age, he still needs to be watched over "nonstop," a comment that has led to him being trolled online.
While Melania Trump wants her son out of the public eye, Barron tends to find himself under the spotlight and was even branded a hero recently after it was revealed he called the police on a man in the UK who assaulted his female friend during a FaceTime call.
Melania Trump Says Barron Still Needs Supervision At 19

Despite being enrolled at New York University's Stern School of Business, Melania Trump has shared that her son Barron still needs supervision, suggesting she will continue to keep a close watch over the 19-year-old.
Not much is known about the youngest son of President Donald Trump, as his mom has made it her business to keep him out of the public eye.
He doesn't have a social media account, is not in a relationship, and is understood to have kept to himself all through freshman year, all while having secret service within touching distance at all times.
In fact, many fans suspect the reason he ditched his Manhattan campus and decided to attend classes at NYU's D.C. Academic Center has his mom's fingerprints all over.
As part of her efforts to promote her new documentary "Melania," she explained to Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo on Thursday morning that things are supposed to be that way with children, especially those who are of Barron's age.
"You need to be there for a child nonstop, especially when they need you, especially at that age that Baron is," she told Bartiromo, per the Daily Beast.
The First Son Got Trolled Online After His Mother's Remarks Went Viral

Melania's comments about 19-year-old Barron swiftly led to intense trolling online, with netizens poking fun at the university student for seemingly still being supervised by his mother.
A person on X wrote, "He's 19 and has been completely spoiled his entire life. Of course, he's unprepared for the real world. He'll always be."
"If you're parenting your adult kid 'nonstop' - you probably sucked at the job the first 18 years..." another commented, taking a dig at Melania.
A third individual noted, "A reminder - he's 20 in just a few weeks, so he won't even be considered a teenager anymore, let alone a child."
One more person said, "Creepy-weird! I recall when my son was 19. He needed parents, but he did not need us parenting, 'nonstop.' What is she talking about?"
Melania Trump Says Barron Has Become Active In Politics

Melania's close monitoring of Barron will seemingly face a major hurdle in the upcoming years as he begins carving his own path.
During her appearance on "Mornings With Maria," the former model divulged that Barron has followed in his father Donald Trump's footsteps by becoming very active in politics, unlike his first tenure as president.
"He understands politics, and he gives advice to his father," she told the host.
Melania added, "We talk about it so differently."
Barron Trump Involved In Assault Case After Calling Cops On A Russian Man In The UK

Melania's latest remarks about her son come amid reports of her son's seemingly heroic deeds, after he called the London police to report the assault of a Russian female friend by her boyfriend at the time.
Apparently, Barron was on a FaceTime call with the woman when he saw a man hit her.
Immediately, he made a call to the London police reporting that he'd just witnessed "a girl" he knew "getting beat up," per reports.
In an email shared with law enforcement in May 2025, Barron noted that a "shirtless man with darkish hair" had answered the call from the woman's phone for "maybe one second."
The situation quickly took a turn when he saw the woman "getting hit while crying."
According to The Guardian, the suspect, who was later identified as Matvei Rumiantsev, admitted that he was "jealous to some extent" of Barron and complained that she was "frankly leading him [Barron] on."

A recently released transcript from the Crown Prosecution Service saw Barron telling the dispatcher that he met the alleged victim on social media.
He was then asked if he'd seen the alleged assault on social media, but he replied in the negative, answering that it was on "a video call."
"I was told by the victim, who I am very close with, that this individual was giving her difficulty for a long time," he relayed in his email.
Describing what he witnessed on the video call, Barron said it was "very brief indeed, but indeed prevalent."
Barron Trump's Swift Action Led To The Conviction Of The Individual

In the transcript, Barron appeared to be frustrated with the questions he was being asked by a dispatcher, who cautioned him to stop being "rude."
When he was asked about how he knew the alleged victim, he tried to downplay it by saying it didn't matter.
"I need to take information from you, so how have you come by this information?" the operator insisted.
Barron said, "Uh, I got a call from her with a guy beating her up."
The operator told him point-blank, "Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions. If you want to help the person, you'll answer my questions clearly and precisely."
He then said he didn't know the name of the man carrying out the alleged assault before apologizing for being rude.
On Wednesday, a jury found Rumiantsev guilty of assault and perverting the course of justice.
