Neither the White House nor President Donald Trump appeared fazed by Bruce Springsteen's latest track condemning ICE-related violence.

The 76-year-old rock icon has long been outspoken against the administration, but following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, he dropped a song directly addressing the tragedy.

Now, the White House has responded to Springsteen's message, and according to them, his song is far from a priority.

Springsteen’s recent anthem “Streets of Minneapolis” is getting positive reviews from activists and fans. However, the White House has made it known that the track is the least of their worries.

Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Entertainment Weekly in a statement that the administration is prioritizing cooperation with state and local Democrats to help federal authorities remove “dangerous criminal illegal aliens from their communities.”

The focus, hence, is “not random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information,” Jackson shared.

She added, "The media should cover how Democrats have refused to work with the Administration, and instead, opted to provide sanctuary for these criminal illegals."

The US President has been open about his stance on the guitarist and has previously gone on a lengthy rant slamming him. “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform last year.

The 79-year-old Republican added that he had “never liked” the songwriter, whom he described as talentless, and that he does not like his political views, as he supported Joe Biden.

Trump rounded up his tirade with a scathing remark: “Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldn't see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)?”

In Springsteen’s record that the White House slammed, he revived his Oscar-winning 1994 classic "Streets of Philadelphia," with lyrics addressing the ICE killings in Minneapolis.

Per The Blast, Springsteen took to social media, explaining the urgency behind the track, revealing it was produced in response to what he described as state violence unfolding in the state.

In the lyrics of the record, Springsteen sings about the protest from citizens while directly mentioning Pretti and Good who died as a result of the violence. He further called out the federal authorities while name-dropping Trump before ending with a call for justice.

Springsteen's latest music isn't the first time he has spoken out about events in the state.

Just two weeks ago, at the Light of Day Winterfest in New Jersey, the "Hungry Heart" singer addressed the Good's death and the administration's role.

As The Blast previously reported, the singer delivered a performance of his song “The Promised Land,” explaining that he wrote it "as an ode to American possibility."

He added that the nation's values, built over 250 years, have recently been trampled before telling immigration authorities to “get the f–k out” of the state.

However, Springsteen’s performance was met with criticism from MAGA supporters. Per The Blast, one critic mocked his reference to "fellow citizens," insisting those arrested were not citizens. Another critic called him "a washed-up clown" detached from reality.

The 20-time Grammy winner has been vocal about his political views, frequently criticizing the U.S. leader. Before the 2024 elections, The Blast reported that he publicly endorsed Kamala Harris while denouncing Trump as a "tyrant."

That year, Springsteen appeared at Harris's rally in Georgia, performing acoustic renditions of his songs and sharing his belief that she was the right choice to guide the nation.

He praised Harris as a candidate who respects the rule of law and supports peaceful transfers of power, contrasting her with Trump, whom he accused of "running to be an American tyrant."

Springsteen is not the only singer using his platform to address the state of the nation. During his Warped Tour stop in Los Angeles, Ice-T switched his 1992 track “Cop Killer” to “ICE Killer.”

He later explained, according to The Blast, that the change wasn't premeditated as the moment simply took over once he hit the stage.

The rapper also weighed in on the nationwide demonstrations sparked by the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, warning that the country may be heading toward dangerous territory.
