Singer-songwriter Jessie J was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and now, she's opening up about her journey and what she has been dealing with since her diagnosis.
Before performing for a crowd of her adoring fans, the singer cracked jokes about her breasts and also lent advice to those who are dealing with the same ailment.
Jessie J Called Out Her Breasts For Being 'Rude'

Jessie J, born Jessica Cornish, is currently on her "No Secrets" tour, and on January 28, she performed at the Irving Plaza in New York City. In an unfiltered moment, the "Price Tag" singer talked to the crowd about her breast cancer and how life has been the past year, per People.
The 37-year-old shared that 2025 was "the year of perspective." The singer then stated that the "rudest thing that my boobs could've ever done" was give her breast cancer 10 days before releasing her album.
"Like, really?" she joked. After getting some laughs from the audience, she said that no one really knows how to handle her breast cancer jokes.
Jessie J said last year was a weird time for her, but it shifted her perspective. As for those who are asking how she is doing, the singer said, "I'm alive. I am so good."
She then directly addressed the crowd and gave a heartfelt message: "For anyone here that has been through cancer or is going through it or may go through it, hold on. Hold the f-ck on."
How She Was Diagnosed

In December, Jessie J sat down with Maggie Rulli from ABC News to talk about her breast cancer. The "Bang Bang" singer recalled feeling a lump and an ache in her arm, which she checked. She got a biopsy and found out that she had early-stage breast cancer.
Her initial concern was for her son, 2-year-old Sky, whom she shares with professional basketball player Chanan Colman. She immediately called her mother and told her, "Well, I can't die, because I have Sky."
Jessie J also revealed that her initial reaction wasn't fear. Instead, she felt out of control, but said she wasn't the type of person to lock herself away and cry. "It's just given me a deeper perspective, and I'm really riding that wave of living in the moment and enjoying life," she explained.
Jessie J Underwent A Mastectomy

In June 2025, Jessie J revealed that she had undergone surgery to remove her right breast. Scans following the mastectomy showed that the cancer had not spread. Two months later, the singer took to social media to update her followers and announce the cancellation of some tour dates.
The singer said that she needed to undergo another surgery that she described as "nothing too serious," but said she had to do it before the end of the year.
Jessie J apologized to her fans and expressed her frustration over the cancellation. However, she understood that it was the "right decision to make" for the sake of her health.
Why She Broke Royal Protocol

In November last year, Jessie J performed at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Kate Middleton was also in attendance, and the singer offered a warm hug to the Princess of Wales.
The act was against royal protocol, but as previously reported by The Blast, Jessie J's empathy took precedence over following the rules. As she explained, she was warned not to make contact, but she asked the princess's permission before hugging her.
"I didn't see her as the Princess of Wales, I mean, obviously I did, and I was respectful... I said to her, 'Can I give you a hug?' and she received it," Jessie J explained.
The Princess of Wales also had cancer and underwent chemotherapy. She announced in January 2025 that she was in remission.
Jessie J Is Helping Raise Awareness About Breast Cancer

Jessie J has updated her fans throughout her breast cancer journey by posting videos on social media. In an interview with Women's Health, the singer said that she has dealt with multiple health issues throughout the years and stayed strong through all of them. "I believe I've gone through all the things I have to help people," she explained.
The singer has heard stories from fans about how they or their friends got themselves checked after hearing about her story and found cancer in its early stages. That's one of the reasons she has continued to share about her battle. "I'll keep talking about how important that is," Jessie J said.
