Ray J Reveals Doctor's Recommendation Amid Living Countdown

Ray J is sharing more updates about his health following the dire revelation of his heart problems.

The singer/streamer, infamously known for shooting a sex video with Kim Kardashian, recently shocked fans by announcing that he might not have long to live. The dire probability stemmed from his failing heart.

Ray J has been facing one difficulty after another, with 2025 filled with his gun-wielding drama with his estranged wife, a debt lawsuit, and a bizarre plea for shelter.

During a recent interview, Ray J explained that doctors claimed they did not know how long he had to live and placed him on multiple drugs in an attempt to prolong his life. The list included the cholesterol medication Lipitor, Jardiance, and Entresto, drugs frequently prescribed for people at high risk of heart failure.

Ray J added that doctors told him to prepare for the possibility of using a pacemaker or defibrillator; however, he would be certain if these options were the next step at his next appointment in 14 days. Until then, the Kick streamer was ordered to rest and use his drugs.

Ray J also told TMZ that doctors warned him not to drink or smoke, confessing that it was challenging giving up these vices, but he planned to live on the straight and narrow. The most challenging part was not being able to see his kids due to a criminal protective order.

Despite the shocking news and surprisingly low revealed odds by the 46-year-old, the folks at AVN are choosing to stay on the positive side of things with a statement to The Blast that reads:

Ray J noted that his health issue made him realize that he needed to change his way of living. He wanted more time to transform his life and reunite with his kids, believing he could find ways to prolong his life in Haiti.

Although Ray J understood that the island nation was in complete chaos due to extreme gang violence and political instability, he argued that his research showed it was worth the risk of visiting Haiti for treatment.

"If I come out of this, I'll be stronger and a better person," Ray J declared. The latest health update comes days after The Blast reported that the singer had shared his health woes with fans on Instagram, claiming he almost died.

In his social media update, Ray J claimed that he nearly lost his life following a health scare. "My heart's only beating 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right," he assured fans.

The media personality thanked fans for their prayers and support, crediting them for keeping him alive. He shared more details in an Instagram Live session, noting he might not live long enough to see 2027, per his doctors.

Ray J sounded regretful about the way he had lived his life thus far, admitting, "I shouldn't have went this hard, bro." He noted that he had to ensure the financial stability of his baby mama and children, adding that he wished to be cremated and not buried.

Ray J's shocking health problems came a month after his bizarre plea for food and shelter. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he had posted a video of himself stranded in Tampa, Florida, with nothing but a change of clothes and his phone.

The media personality explained that he was hoping to hitch a ride to Los Angeles while filming what he hoped could become a hitchhiking show. Ray J noted the plot would revolve around families willing to help and aid him on his journey back to his children before Christmas.

"I need some food, and I need shelter. Just a lot of sh-t that's happened. And I just wanna get back home and see my kids," Ray J begged. He stressed that he was in dire need of help and fans should not see his desperate pleas as a publicity stunt.

Ray J's pleas for help followed his November 27 arrest after he allegedly pulled a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love. The Blast reported that the drama occurred on Thanksgiving, stemming from a dispute over the couple's children.

Ray J reportedly pulled out the gun to stop Princess Love from taking their two children, nor did he want her cousin's husband in his home. The incident happened live before fans on Twitch, where the entertainer had been streaming.

The streamer's troubles did not end there, as he was sued by American Express in the days leading to his arrest and subsequent release from jail. Ray J and his streaming platform, Tronix Network, were accused of owing a six-figure sum.
