Kim Kardashian Finally Explains The Harry And Meghan Photo Disappearance

Kim Kardashian is finally setting the record straight on one of the most talked-about social media mysteries of last year. 

Months after photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle briefly appeared and then vanished from Instagram, Kim has addressed the backlash, confusion, and speculation head-on. 

Speaking candidly on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Kim offered context behind the decision, insisting the moment was far more innocent than it became. 

Kim Kardashian has now spoken publicly for the first time about why photos of Prince Harry and Meghan were deleted from Instagram after Kris Jenner’s milestone 70th birthday party. 

The candid images, which showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex mingling and dancing at the James Bond–themed bash in Beverly Hills, initially appeared on both Jenner and Kim’s social media pages before disappearing hours later.

Appearing on “Khloé In Wonder Land,” Kim explained that the images were removed at the Sussexes’ request once they realized the timing conflicted with Remembrance Day. 

“We were told that it was totally cool to post,” Kim said per the Daily Mail. “And then after it was posted, I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down. And then I think they realized, like, ‘Oh, this was so silly.’”

Kim emphasized that there was no ill intent behind the original posts or their removal, describing the entire episode as a misunderstanding that snowballed far beyond expectations.

Kim Kardashian made it clear that sensitivity around Remembrance Day played a central role in the decision. 

The holiday, observed annually in November, honors members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service, and Prince Harry has long been associated with military causes. 

Notably, the Duke of Sussex was photographed wearing a poppy badge, an emblem of Remembrance, while arriving at Kris’s party, which took place the night before the solemn ceremonies at London’s Cenotaph.

While Harry and Meghan were also photographed attending the Baby2Baby charity gala later that same evening, Kim pointed out that context mattered. 

“That was fine, but maybe not partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever,” she explained. “So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day.”

Kim added that what began as a harmless social media moment quickly took on a life of its own. 

“It was really innocent, which is so crazy,” she said, noting that Kris and Meghan have shared a warm friendship for years. 

As online chatter intensified, Kim admitted she was surprised by how negatively the situation was received. 

According to the socialite, the backlash felt disproportionate to what actually happened. 

“You got to laugh at, like, the situation sometimes and just, like, lighten it up,” she said, adding that she even joked about turning the controversy into a SKIMS campaign. 

“We should do a full SKIMS campaign,” Kim recalled. “Take the photo — even just us, like, I’ll shoot you at mom [sic], you know, post it and then delete it, like, 30 minutes later.”

Despite her humor, the reality TV star admitted the ordeal left her feeling disappointed. 

“If we just made it light and made it funny, you know, I think it would have been, like, received differently,” she said. “But I hated how that was received for everyone. That sucks.”

While Kim Kardashian maintained a calm tone publicly, earlier reports suggested the situation caused frustration behind the scenes. 

Back in November, sources claimed Kim wasn’t thrilled about the Sussexes’ reported request to remove the photos, especially given that they had already been photographed publicly that same night.

According to the Daily Mail, the Kardashians were allegedly “baffled” by the request. 

One insider claimed Kim questioned the logic, saying, “You’ve already been papped outside, and you were at the Baby2Baby event the same night being photographed like Meghan Trainor and Paris Hilton, so what’s the problem?” 

The source went as far as to say that “Kim is pissed off.” However, the media personality’s recent comments suggest any irritation has since faded. 

There appears to be no lingering tension between the families, and the moment has been chalked up to a misunderstanding rather than a lasting feud.

Beyond the royal photo drama, Kim’s conversation with Khloé covered a wide range of lighter topics. 

The sisters touched on family life, Malibu get-togethers, and Kylie Jenner’s recent outings with her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet. 

Kim shared that Kylie and Chalamet “had the best time,” while joking about how exhausted she and Khloé felt afterward.

The episode included a playful game of “When was the last time,” during which Kim admitted it had been years since she last visited a supermarket. 

Earlier in the interview, the mom of four also addressed her long-running feud with Taylor Swift. 

When Khloé asked, “Do you think people would be surprised you listen to Taylor Swift?” Kim replied, “I think I’ve said it.” 

She later added, “I’ve always thought she’s a super talented, great artist.”

Kim rounded up the conversation by sharing her love for country music, declaring, “I’ll always be a Shania Twain girl. I love Carrie Underwood. And LeAnn Rimes — obsessed.”
