Sharon Stone receives inspiration from her loved ones from the great beyond!
The actress who cheated death over two decades ago found a way to make do with the connection she shares with her dead loved ones and create beautiful, meaningful things.
Sharon Stone suffered a near-fatal stroke and brain hemorrhage in 2001, which left her with a slim chance of survival and severe memory loss.
Sharon Stone Discusses Her Artistic Journey Involving Spirits

The media personality revealed a new side to her, which seeks artistic inspiration from talks with spirits and embracing universal consciousness. According to her, her artistic journey through painting came as a phase between acting, and she has had to consult the unknown to create these pieces.
"I think this channel really opened because so many of my members of my family died and they died really rapidly in these last maybe three and a half years," the star noted.
She emphasized how she hears a higher consciousness always speaking to her as soon as she starts creating the portraits. Stone does not take these heartfelt conversations for granted, as she expressed gratitude for the dead, allowing her to see their soul. In her words to Extra TV:
"Because I believe in universal consciousness, I do believe that someone has allowed me into their consciousness so that I could paint this portrait of someone that I don't know. I feel so blessed."
The Artist Recalled Her Experience Working On An Important Piece Of Art In The Past

The process of creating iconic pieces from these inspirations has not been easy for the star, as she does encounter complicated characters once in a while. For instance, she recalled creating a critical piece titled "Him," which was inspired by a spirit that took a while to get vulnerable.
When the spirit eventually got talking, Stone noted that his story was traumatic, and it was about him drowning in a ship where he was chained in the hull of the vessel. The actress stated that it was hard for her to interpret the trauma as his story made her feel very upset.
"He had a very hard time talking to me, because as an enslaved person, he was not allowed to talk openly and freely. He had me experience his drowning with him," Stone affirmed.
The piece was one of the artworks assembled for her Rogue Gallery Series, where the project statement described the collection as never-before-seen pieces created by the star.
The statement added that the series featured haunting portraits of the people from different eras that she recently started to channel while painting.
Sharon Stone Shared Her Inspiring Story Of Beating Stroke Last Year

On January 30, 2025, the screen goddess hosted the American Heart Association (AHA) Red Dress Collection Concert, where she detailed what it felt like to survive a stroke and how the illness inspired her will to live.
In her interview with PEOPLE, Stone recalled walking out of the hospital with most of her body mass gone, her right foot affected, and zero knowledge of her own name. Decades later, the actress expressed how heroic it feels for her to host the ball on her two feet, hale and hearty.
Stone revealed that a ruptured vertebral artery bled into her brain for nine days, causing the stroke, and there were almost no rehabilitation programs to put her back together.
"There wasn't any aftercare, and certainly, insurance companies are us f-cking us right and left, and there wasn't any insurance to help me. There wasn't anything. And I'm sure that there's probably even less now," she expressed.
Aside from that, her estranged husband, Phil Bronstein, also opted for divorce right in the middle of recovery, creating another crushing blow to her soul.
Despite this, the actress fought her way through and stayed alive to become a stroke awareness ambassador who urged people to pay attention to the early symptoms.
The 67-Year-Old Realigned Her Values After Her Stroke Episode

Stone noted that her ordeal brought her very close to heaven's door and demystified death in such a way that recovery forced her to reassess her priorities in life.
As shared by TODAY, the actress declared, "When I reconsidered what value things had to me in life, I really wanted to have children and spend my time with them. And I only really worked as much as I needed to to support my family. But now my children have left the nest, and now I'm back to work."
Moving on from the illness was not a day's journey either. Stone claimed it took her seven years to get her spark back, personally and professionally. She recalled having to remortgage her home and coming to terms with losing the momentum she had gathered as the hottest actress on the block before falling ill.
"It was like Miss Princess Diana and I were so famous, and she died and I had a stroke. And we were forgotten," the media personality stressed. Stone adopted Roan with her ex in 2000 and went on to expand her family by adopting sons, Laird in 2005 and Quinn in 2006.
Sharon Stone Shared Golden Nuggets At The 2006 Astra Film Awards

The Hollywood icon was honored with the Timeless Awards at the event on January 9, and she took the stage in pure legend fashion by giving tips to the upcoming generation of creatives and activists.
As stated by The Blast, Stone urged younger attendees at the event to embrace the concept of responsibility and purpose. The star then noted that visibility and privilege can provide an opportunity for activism "because fame without awareness, success without purpose, is pointless."
Stone emphasized that success rarely happens by accident, and her story is a reflection of that, especially how she secured the lead role in "Basic Instinct."
She revealed that she was not the first person on the list of producers for the role, but through persistence and preparedness, the tides were able to change in her favor.
"But I was the person who got her manager to bring her to the office and get her the script, and I was the person who was prepared, because I had the script for eight months," the actress continued.
Stone urged her younger audience to trust their instincts and fight for opportunities where they think they can make all the difference.
