Rapper Nicki Minaj is making her allegiance to President Donald Trump loud and clear, and social media users appear none too pleased.
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Minaj stunned the audience at a Treasury Department-hosted summit in Washington when she joined Trump on stage and lauded the politician.
Nicki Minaj's appearance and statements arrived weeks after the "Starships" rapper joined Erika Kirk on stage at a Turning Points USA event.

Minaj took the stage alongside Trump on Wednesday, stunning the crowd when she announced that she was "probably the president's number one fan."
The rapper insisted that the hate she's received after pledging her allegiance to Trump wouldn't falter. "It actually motivates me to support him more," she said.
Minaj told the audience that she was tired of the constant attacks Trump endures and vowed to stand by his side through it all.
"And you know, the smear campaigns, it’s not going to work," she said.
Trump Says Nicki Minaj Has Always 'Been MAGA'

Minaj's appearance in Washington comes after the rap superstar reportedly donated significant sums to "Trump Accounts" of her fans' kids.
Trump enthusiastically acknowledged Minaj's generous donations and emphasized that she has long supported him and his political agenda.
"She’s so good. She’s been MAGA, what can I say? She’s been with us all the way," Trump said.
Nicki Minaj Spoke About Trump At A Turning Points USA Convention

This isn't the first time Minaj has been vocal about her appreciation for Trump, according to The Hill. While appearing alongside Erika Kirk at a Turning Points USA convention, the "Anaconda" rapper said she had the "utmost respect and admiration" for the president.
"He has, I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact. He’s from Queens, New York, like me," she said.

A video of Minaj speaking with Trump at the Washington event has been shared online, sparking mixed reactions among fans.
"Oh, you’re so weirddddddd," someone commented, while another called the rapper a "sell out."
Other users implied that Minaj was only cozying up to Trump for personal gain.
"Nicki up to something . Chess moves lol . Idk what it is," a user wrote.
Another user speculated that Minaj was hoping Trump would intervene in her husband, Kenneth Petty's, legal woes.
According to PEOPLE, Petty served four years in prison after being convicted of attempted rape in April 1995.
Petty had another run-in with the law in March 2020 after reportedly failing to register as a sex offender after moving to California.
In 2022, Petty was sentenced to "a year of house arrest and three years of probation."
Minaj Clashes With Former CNN Anchor Don Lemon Online

According to The Blast, Minaj came under fire just last week when she made comments many deemed "homophobic" directed at former CNN anchor Don Lemon.
Lemon made headlines when he livestreamed protesters in Minneapolis pushing back against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The Minneapolis protestors went viral when a portion of the stream showed them interrupting a church service where an ICE agent serves as a local pastor.
"DON ‘C--- SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!" Minaj wrote online.
Lemon fired back at Minaj in a separate interview, telling the rapper to "sit the f-ck down" and to "grow some brains."
The ex-CNN anchor labeled Minaj "homophobic" and a "bigot" who has little concern for the Black community.
Lemon also argued that Minaj has no place to comment on political issues because she has no experience or background in the sector.
"She doesn't understand politics, she doesn't understand journalism, and I'm not surprised that she's weighing in on something that is beyond her capacity," he said.
Like the commentators above, Lemon suggested Minaj was teaming up with Trump for personal gain.
"Nicki Minaj will do anything that is expedient for her politically. And again, she's ignorant; she doesn't know what she's talking about, and she's always weighing in on things she doesn't know about. Nicki Minaj should just sit the f-ck down," he said.
