A week after Brooklyn Beckham severed ties with his parents, his mother, Victoria Beckham, is presenting a calm and strong front.

The former Spice Girls star was recently honored in Paris, where she was named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. She attended the ceremony alongside most of her family, with Brooklyn notably absent.

While the outing appeared celebratory, experts suggest there was far more being communicated beneath the surface.

According to body language expert Judi James, the fashion designer’s presence at the event conveyed authority and resilience.

Analyzing photos from the occasion, James told Daily Mail that the former singer embodied the image of a "strong matriarch," describing her central position in the family photo as a deliberate "power pose."

James explained, “Her back is upright, her facial expression confident, challenging the camera with her strong eye engage, and - almost uniquely for her – wearing a closed-lip slither of a smug-ish smile to hint at pride in her well-earned achievement.”

Aside from Victoria’s body doing most of the talking, the rest of the family gave subtle signals. According to James, one of them was the family’s avoidance of any exaggerated displays, such as matching outfits, meant to “prove that Brand Beckham is still well on the rails.” 

Notably, there were no confrontational cues aimed at Brooklyn. The boys didn't show angry looks, and their girlfriends kept a polite emotional distance, rather than signaling what a “loyal daughter-in-law should look like.”

James also pointed out Harper's body language, noting her gentle lean toward Victoria as a sign of affection and allegiance, reinforcing her mother's central role.

David, on his part, appeared content to let his wife command the moment, while Romeo followed his father's stance, signaling unity within the family.

The image analyzed by James was shared by the fashion designer on Instagram. In the photo, Victoria stands at the center with Harper close by, while the former football star and the rest of the family pose nearby, smiling.

Before Victoria posted the snap, The Blast reported that Brooklyn was missing from the family occasion in the French Capital, which had sparked online reaction.

While some fans criticized him for stepping away from his family, others suggested the brood appeared largely unbothered by his decision.

Despite maintaining a composed public image, sources say the 51-year-old mom has been deeply affected by her eldest son's recent accusations.

In Brooklyn’s statement, he emphasized that his parents were focused on protecting their public image first before anything else. He called them “controlling and manipulative” and admitted to struggling with “overwhelming anxiety.”

These claims left Victoria feeling “hurt and betrayed,” according to The Blast, particularly after putting in efforts to protect him from the damaging rumors about him.

Despite Victoria’s feelings, Brooklyn is said to have no regrets. He reportedly believes his parents attempted to drive a wedge between him and his wife, Nicola Peltz.

He recalled being told that Peltz was not "blood" and therefore not truly part of the family.

With Brooklyn continuing to distance himself from his parents, insiders suggest the move represents an effort to reclaim control over his personal narrative, per The Blast.

Those close to the former model say it was a conscious move to take back control of his public image, especially as scrutiny around his marriage and family relationships continued to grow.

There is also speculation that a tell-all memoir could be on the horizon. While the 26-year-old had previously dismissed the idea, the escalating rift and the sense that his story is being told without his consent may prompt a change of heart.

Amid the personal challenges, Victoria landed an unexpected music comeback with her 2001 single “Not Such an Innocent Girl.” 

As The Blast reported, the song took the No. 1 spot on the UK and Ireland iTunes chart for the first time in 15 years.

The surge followed a viral online push, with fans deliberately propelling the track up the charts while cheering on the singer. One fan wrote on X, "Absolutely brilliant comeback for Victoria-let's keep the momentum going!"
