The Couple Got Engaged Late Last Year

Cameron announced her engagement via a post on Instagram a few days after the New Year. The photos showed the couple cozied up under stringed lights as they gazed lovingly at each other.

Highlighted was the large rock that adorned Cameron's ring finger. "My favourite part of being alive," she captioned the post, followed by a ring emoji.

It was the first time Cameron and David, the vocalist of Italian rock band Måneskin, revealed their engagement, although, as the former revealed in an interview with Vogue, the proposal actually happened in October 2025.

The 30-year-old shared with Vogue that while she enjoys experimenting with makeup and would "never, ever, ever, ever, ever" get caught in public without eyeliner, she was bare-faced during one of the most important moments in her life.

As Cameron recalled, she didn't have an inkling that David was going to propose, thus, the bare face. "It was very sweet in that way because I am typically very made-up, done-up. I have fun experimenting with that stuff. But in this case, I was just in my big T-shirt, slightly damp hair, and no makeup," she explained.

It seems that when it comes to her face, the star already has something in mind for her wedding. She doesn't want to stick to a traditional look and would rather be makeup-free on her special day than be glammed up and not feel like herself.

"I would rather be in literally no makeup, or like a sort of smudgy eye like I threw on some eyeliner and I f-cked it up myself kind of thing," she explained.

In June 2023, David ended his six-year relationship with Giorgia Soleri. In September that same year, eagle-eyed fans spotted Cameron attending a Måneskin concert in New York, and the frontman and actress were captured by paparazzi out and about in different spots in the months following.

As reported by Cosmopolitan, the two confirmed their relationship to the public by smooching in front of cameras on the red carpet before attending a pre-Grammy red carpet gala.

Cameron divulged to the publication that she and David crossed each other's paths in 2022 at the Video Music Awards. One year later, they again met at the same event where the vocalist invited her to their concert. "He was like, 'We're starting our world tour at Madison Square Garden. If you're still in town in a few days, we'd love it if you came.' It was super innocent," Cameron explained.

The two then started hanging out, and as the "Descendants" star said, David was very clear about his intentions. "It was super honorable. He's like a 1950s gentleman, angel, teddy bear. He's the best person I've met in my life," she gushed.

Dove Cameron Is Damiano David's Muse

In 2025, David released his first solo album titled "Funny Little Fears." His new music is a departure from Måneskin's rock vibes and instead shifts toward the pop genre.

In a conversation with the LA Times, David said that Cameron was the "major inspiration" for the entire album. "What she makes me feel. It's a level of directness that I would never have had," adding that prior to the actress, he wouldn't have openly declared his love for someone. "Now I'm like, 'This son is for my girlfriend, 100%'" he added.

Cameron, who is also a singer, also lent her vocal chops in the song "Zombie Lady," a track that David said stemmed from the moment they were watching Tim Burton's movie, "Corpse Bride."
