Before there was Meghan Markle there was Lady Sarah Ferguson or “Fergie”. When it comes to royal controversies the Duchess of York former wife of Prince Andrew knows what she’s talking about. After all, she has been in the middle of her fair share of controversies. She was pictured having her toe sucked by a former lover. Also, she was tricked into a scam where she was filmed saying that she would grant people access to the royals for money. It’s hard to say that someone who was lived the royal life has had a hard life, but Fergie’s hasn’t been easy! Now, she’s sticking her neck out for her former husband despite his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
Fergie Stands By Her Ex
Although as individuals Fergie and Andrew may very well be the royals with the poorest judgment on the face of the earth they get along quite well together. Although Fergie did not say whether or not the allegations against Prince Andrew for his connections to Jeffrey Epstein were false she did praise him in a recent interview with PEOPLE saying,
“I believe that he’s a kind, good man, and he’s been a fabulous father to the girls.” she also said she’d stand by him, “Whatever challenges he has, I will stand firm to the co-parents that we are together,”
She Also Has Her Own Epstein Ties
It’s always good to see a divorced couple who are able to get along for the sake of the kids. In this case, though, there’s no way that Fergie could throw Andrew under the bus because of his Epstein connections. She herself has direct Epstein links if you will. Fergie borrowed money from Epstein to be able to pay her debt. She has since called this a lapse in judgment. As we mentioned before though, this was not the only time that Fergie had poor judgment. Most of these issues have been money-related. Something that you wouldn’t expect to happen to the former wife of a son of The Queen!
Remembering Diana
Fergie is actually back in the spotlight because of a new book that she has coming out called “Her Heart for a Compass,”. The book is said to be a novelized version of her relationship with Princess Diana. Whom, she also mentioned in the interview. According to the Duchess of York, she and the Princess of Wales met when they were teens. She recalled that they regarded each other as best friends. Although the media speculated that the two had drifted apart when Princess Diana tragically died Fergie says that was not the case.
A Nod To Kate & Meghan
Sarah also took the opportunity to say that she believes Princess Diana would be very proud of the wives that her children had chosen. As each of them has “their own voice”. She also mentioned that Diana would be crazy about her grandchildren. Sadly, of course, this is something that we can only speculate about. Ferguson recalled though that she and Diana as well as both their children were very close. That’s something that is still evident in the relationship that William and Harry have with Beatrice and Eugenie.
