Megan Stalter is making a bold exit from TikTok, and she’s tying the decision directly to what she claims is censorship related to her anti-ICE views. The "Hacks" star says she’s leaving the platform amid growing outrage over immigration enforcement and a string of deadly shootings in Minneapolis involving federal agents. Megan Stalter is now joining other voices speaking out after the fatal shooting of VA nurse Alex Pretti at a Minneapolis protest on Saturday, a violent confrontation that happened less than a month after the deadly January 7 shooting of a Minneapolis protester named Renee Nicole Good.

Stalter announced her move on Instagram, claiming she was being blocked from uploading content that criticized ICE. "I've tried for hours to upload the same video, and it wouldn't show it to one person," she said. "ABOLISH ICE! Delete TikTok!"

She then posted another Instagram update with text that expanded on her claims, explaining her plan to leave the platform for good. "Hi, so today I will be downloading my videos and deleting my TikTok page. 'TT is under new ownership and we are being completely censored and monitored.'"

According to Stalter, she repeatedly attempted to upload content related to ICE, and said she even tried to disguise it as comedy to avoid triggering the algorithm, but claims it didn’t work. She said she was "unable to upload anything about" ICE, even when she tried to fool the algorithm by making her video appear as if it was a comedy clip.

Stalter urged her followers, "Let's delete the app love you!"

Stalter also cited broader concerns about the platform’s policies, saying another reason she was stepping away was because of policies that would keep statistics on users relating to their health, religious beliefs, race, gender, and sexual activities.

Before publicly announcing her TikTok departure, Stalter had taken to Instagram with a longer, emotional statement about the political moment and how it connects to her faith. She prefaced her statement by writing, "I am a gay Christian person and I just thought it was really important to share something I wrote today with you."

She added, "I have never ever been a Republican, but I have loved God and Jesus my whole entire life." Stalter then addressed Christians who support ICE or the president, saying, "If you were someone who identifies as a Christian but supports ICE or the president, I want you to remember that Jesus was executed for challenging the system."

"His life and teachings directly threatened the religious, economic, and political power structures of his time - and he was murdered," she continued."If you are a follower of Christ, I strongly urge you to follow what the Bible actually says ... when a foreigner resides among you, do not mistreat them."

She argued that people "can't argue that God wants us to love our neighbors." "Our neighbors are being hunted and kidnapped and attacked daily; our government is killing people, and they are lying to us," she added.

She then said the God who she worships "is extremely angry about what is going on." "I fully believe that I believe he is extremely angry at our government. They are murdering people in front of us - we cannot stop talking about this," she said.

Stalter wrapped up her message by reiterating her position, saying, "We have to abolish ICE. I truly, truly believe that is exactly what Jesus would do."

Stalter’s viral comments are landing at a time when ICE is under heavy public scrutiny following multiple deadly incidents in Minneapolis.

Her posts come as officials face criticism over the fatal January 7 shooting of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot dead in her car by ICE agent Jonathan Ross. U.S. officials allege she attempted to run him over, meanwhile, her defenders say video shows she steered away. Then this weekend, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs, was shot and killed by an ICE agent in south Minneapolis.

With both cases fueling outrage and protests, and with social media playing a central role in how the public is reacting, Stalter’s TikTok exit is quickly becoming part of the larger firestorm.
