Victoria Beckham's Spice Girls Pal Says She Parents 'Very Differently' Amid Feud With Son Brooklyn

Victoria Beckham’s close pal, Melanie Chisholm, made a “conscious decision” to raise her child out of the spotlight. 

Chisholm, also known as “Mel C,” recently spoke candidly about her parenting style amid the Beckham family drama involving son Brooklyn Beckham. 

Meanwhile, the former “Spice Girls” group recently reunited at Emma Bunton’s birthday party, and Victoria was in attendance, despite still reeling from her son’s shocking allegations.

During a candid discussion with the Sunday Times, Mel C opened up about how difficult it is to raise a child as a famous person. She noted that such dynamics tend to affect the child, which is why she chose to keep her daughter, Scarlett, out of the limelight. 

“It’s so hard to be in the shadow of a parent who’s had success. The thing is, with Scarlett, she’s not in the public eye. I made that conscious decision when she was a baby,” she shared. 

The former “Spice Girls” star admitted that she is “relieved” with her decision and is convinced she made the right choice. She also acknowledged that she has friends who didn’t choose the same path as she did, and she holds no judgment toward them. 

“Obviously, I have friends who handle it very differently, each to their own, no judgment at all. But for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn’t feel comfortable making that decision for her,” she added. 

While Chisholm didn’t directly call any names, her statements seemed to be a weigh-in on the ongoing drama between Victoria and her son, Brooklyn.

The eldest Beckham son recently launched a social media attack against his parents, accusing them of feeding the media “lies” to control the public’s opinion about the Beckham family.

He also accused his mother, Victoria, of intentionally attempting to sabotage his wedding to Nicola Peltz by refusing to design her wedding dress at the last minute. 

Despite these explosive allegations, Victoria showed up at Emma Bunton’s 50th birthday party in good spirits, where all members of the former “Spice Girls” crew were in attendance, except Mel B.

The fashion designer shared the picture of the former “Spice Girls” crew posing at the party on Instagram as she wished Bunton a happy birthday. 

Although Victoria appeared cheerful in the pictures from Bunton’s party, sources claim that she feels “hurt” by her son’s accusations.

According to The Blast, the music star has reportedly “done everything she can to make them both feel welcome and treated Nicola like another daughter.” 

While Victoria and David are reportedly “horrified” by the situation, they are still holding out hope for a reconciliation with their son.

The insider also claimed that the 26-year-old model and his wife share the same views on the situation.

The Blast reported that shortly after Brooklyn published the explosive accusations about his parents, one of his mother’s songs made a surprising comeback. 

Last week, Victoria’s “Not Such an Innocent Girl,” which was released in 2001, surprisingly re-entered the UK and Ireland iTunes chart, shooting up to No. 1. 

Fans could help but point out how Brooklyn’s allegations seemed to backfire as his mother seemed to be benefiting from the negative spotlight on her. 

“Absolute brilliant resurgence for Victoria! Let’s keep the momentum!” One fan wrote on X. 

As Victoria’s song soared on the charts, her other son, Cruz Beckham, seemed to express support for her amid the feud. 

According to The Blast, Cruz shared a post on Instagram, which featured a can of Guaraná Antarctica.

While there was no other context to the post, the post was set to his mother’s “Not Such an Innocent Girl,” which seemed to mark support for her in light of the recent drama.
