Former "Road Trip" star Andy Dick is one of the most polarizing figures in comedy. However, when it was announced in late 2025 that he had suffered a drug-related overdose, he received an outpouring of support and hope that he could recover. From there, the 60-year-old comedian checked himself into a rehab facility. Now, the latest is that he has checked himself out of the facility, with plans to continue his sobriety journey.
Andy Dick Is No Longer In Rehab

According to US Weekly, it has been confirmed as of January 26 that Dick has left the rehab facility he'd checked himself into in 2025. This came ahead of what would have been his 50th day at the location. Still, this doesn't mean the comedian is ending his treatment. Instead, he has now moved into a sober living facility. Per the report, it's located near Beverly Hills.
The outlet also learned that Dick plans to take things "one day at a time" as he continues his path to recovery. The actor first told TMZ on December 12 that he had plans to enter the Palm Springs rehab following his overdose. He also confirmed that his longtime friend, Jenny Gimenez, helped get him into rehab. Notably, they both appeared on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" together in 2011.
The Controversial Comedian Suffered An Overdose In December

Dick has always been open about his battle with sobriety and how it has impacted his life and career. Sadly, after not being in the public eye for some time, he reemerged in December 2025 after suffering an overdose. Footage from TMZ dated December 9 shows the actor on the streets of Hollywood, clearly needing medical attention. The video also shows locals seemingly rushing to save his life.
Dick seemed incoherent in the footage, and his glasses could be seen on the concrete near him. Others in the footage tried to get the "Road Trip" actor to respond as someone else asked for Narcan, which is often used in overdose situations. Per the Los Angeles City Fire Department, paramedics responded to the call for aid. However, Dick was not transported to a hospital. The Los Angeles Police Department also responded to the call.
He Spoke Out After The Incident

Dick spoke to TMZ in December 2025 about the overdose incident, insisting that he was fine. He then explained what happened, stating that he had done drugs with someone who was sitting next to him. During the interview, Dick also addressed his friend "livestreaming" his overdose. He said, "I get mad at him if he's not recording."
From there, Dick confirmed that he didn't know the person he took the drugs with. According to him, "No, he was on the street. So was I. I ran away from these fools who are my real friends. That was stupid of me, and then I just met this guy who was my age."

As mentioned, Dick was one of the famous people to appear on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." He was on the 5th season of the show, where he spoke openly about his battle with addiction. Additionally, the actor spoke with Entertainment Tonight in 2013 about his sobriety during his "Dancing with the Stars" stint.
He said, "I had to have a meeting with [Dancing with the Stars]. I think they basically just wanted me to show up not drunk." Dick continued, "Everybody seems concerned. In fact, later on today I have a meeting with my therapist, and I have a case manager, believe it or not. There's no case, which is weird. It's just the case of Andy and alcohol. There's no legal thing. I actually hired somebody to monitor things, and that was like half a year ago."
Dick also confirmed to the outlet at the time that he had checked into a sober living facility during the holidays in order to avoid alcohol. He added about competing on DWTS, "I’m in a place where I need something like this. It came…from God."
He Remains Somewhat Active In Hollywood

It's been some time since Dick has been a fixture on the comedy scene as he once was. However, the actor remains active, making sporadic appearances in films and television shows. According to IMDb, one of his most recent roles is in "Asteroid Vixens," which was released in late 2025.
He also appeared as himself in the movie "T Bird" in 2025.
