Odom was spotted Saturday night at C3 Lounge just off the Las Vegas Strip, where he appeared relaxed as cocktail waitresses served drinks nearby. According to TMZ, Odom wasn’t drinking and was simply hanging out and chatting with friends, but the timing of the outing is still turning heads, given the details surrounding his recent arrest.

His low-key lounge appearance comes days after he was arrested last Sunday, after police claimed they clocked him going 106 MPH in a black SUV around 2 AM. Officers reportedly said the vehicle sped past their cruiser before swerving between lanes and, at times, failing to signal.

After the traffic stop, officers reported that Odom’s eyes appeared bloodshot and watery and said they noticed an “overwhelming odor of marijuana” coming from the vehicle. Authorities say Odom told them he hadn’t been drinking and first denied using marijuana, but later stated he had smoked “hours, hours earlier” around 4 p.m.

Police said Odom appeared impaired during field sobriety testing, citing issues with balance and what they described as eyelid tremors. He was then taken into custody and booked on three charges, including DUI, driving more than 41 mph over the speed limit, and improper lane change.

Odom has previously spoken about the few details he actually remembers from the terrifying 2015 ordeal. During an appearance on "The Kyle & Jackie O Show," the former NBA star reflected on addiction, his hospitalization, and what he recalls from the days leading up to it. “I do remember, but I don’t really remember because I was in a coma,” he began. “I remember being upset that I didn’t have any cocaine to take to the brothel. I had just signed the divorce papers, and I thought I was just gonna go all the way in,” he added, referring to his split from ex-wife Khloé Kardashian.

Odom explained that he put a certain amount of money onto his credit card, hoping to “keep this a secret.” He recalled “having a drink and then waking up three days later with it all over the news.” The basketball player said he didn’t take any drugs himself, but when he woke up in the hospital, he was informed that he did have drugs in his system.

“I don't know what they were able to slip into my drink or what,” he added. “When I woke up, I couldn't walk or talk. So it took you know, it took some months of rehabilitation and a lot of prayers, a lot of determination.”

In the same interview, Odom described how his perspective shifted after surviving the ordeal, and why he believes education is key. “Now my mission is probably to help people who have the same problem who couldn't help themselves be able to understand addiction and understand that it's a brain disease,” he said. “It's important for people to really understand and educate themselves.”

Jackie O then asked if Odom used the near-fatal overdose as an opportunity for growth. “Yeah,” he replied. “You have nothing to do after you beat your death.”

Looking back, Odom has also acknowledged just how close he came to not making it out alive, and how that reality still shapes the way he views his life today.

During a 2018 interview with Kevin Hart, the former Los Angeles Lakers star said doctors repeatedly emphasized the severity of what his body endured during the coma. “All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle. I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma,” he said. “Every day, I’m alive. It’s much better than the alternative.”

While sources insist Odom wasn’t drinking during his latest night out, his return to the Vegas nightlife scene so soon after his arrest is still drawing attention.
