Restaurateur and TV host Guy Fieri has long been known for his signature bleached, spiky hair, and it's quite difficult to imagine him looking any other way.

On his birthday, however, the Mayor of Flavortown decided to shake things up a bit by doing a 180 and changing, not only his hairstyle, but also his choice of clothing.

Guy Fieri Looks Totally Different In His Latest Makeover

Fieri turned 58 on January 22, and he decided to change things up a bit when it came to his appearance. In an Instagram post, he looked completely unrecognizable without his spiky hair. There were no flame-printed shirts nor bold-patterned tops anywhere in sight either.

Seemingly with the help of AI, we now know what a buttoned-up Fieri looks like. In the short clip, the TV chef is wearing a long-sleeved, checkered shirt tucked into khaki pants. His transformation doesn't stop there, however. He's now sporting thick, brunette hair parted on the side.

"After so many years of celebrating my birthday as Guy, I figured this year I'd celebrate it as just a guy. Happy birthday to me," he says before blowing out the candles on a cake.

Fieri's post garnered thousands of likes, and based on the comments, many found "just a guy" hilarious. Fellow chef Joshua Weissman commented that he looked familiar, writing, "Wow, I barely recognized him. Bro looks like my car salesman. Happy birthday!"

Another chef, Maneet Chauhan, posted laughing emojis followed by, "It's your birthday and you give us the give of laughter! This is amazing Happy Happy Happy B'day." Fieri's eldest son, Hunter, also commented, saying, "Dad, when did you start selling insurance?"

Others, however, were disturbed seeing Fieri without his usual flair. One wrote, "This is scaring me," while another user commented, "This makes me uncomfortable in a way I didn't know to be possible."

Van Halen's Sammy Hagar Greeted Guy Fieri In A Touching Post

Sammy Hagar, from the iconic rock band Van Halen, also took the time to greet his longtime friend and business partner. Fieri and Hagar are co-owners of Santo Fino Tequila, which they launched in 2019.

In an Instagram video, Hagar took a shot of Santo Fino and greeted his friend, saying, he's his "partner in crime, tequila, and friendship." In the caption, Hagar joked that he would let Fieri join his band with the condition that the chef "learn how to play a d-mn instrument."

Hagar has known Fieri even before he was a famous TV personality. Per Haute Living, the two met sometime in 1998 or 1999 when the chef joined a contest and won a meet-and-greet with Hagar. The musician said Fieri was "too cool," and they have been friends ever since.

The spiky, frosted hair has been part of Fieri's persona for decades, and it seems he won't be changing his look anytime soon. Surprisingly, the hairstyle wasn't planned, but he decided to stick with it nonetheless.

In an interview with Vice in 2019, Fieri credited his friend, hairdresser Christina Jones, for the look. The chef was having one of those days when he just wanted a new hairstyle but didn't exactly know what kind. He told Jones to do whatever she wanted with his hair, and his now-iconic hairstyle was the result.

He was initially shocked by the color and hid it under a ball cap but eventually warmed up to the unique look and has kept it all these years.

Guy Fieri Serves Up Another Show

Fieri's hosting career has been consistent throughout the years, and he has appeared in several shows centered on food. Shows such as "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," "Guy's Grocery Games," and "Tournament of Champions" are still ongoing, but another title will be added to his roster.

Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery announced Fieri's brand new show, "Guy's Flavortown Games." It's a competition show where contestants will battle it out and show off their cooking skills in different types of kitchens, "from an awesome smashburger in the cramped food truck to a Michelin-worthy dinner in the state-of-the-art kitchen of a fine dining restaurant," the media release read.

"Guy's Flavortown Games" will be available sometime early this year on HBO Max and the Food Network.
