After buying the estate in 2022, Adele moved quickly to gut the property, erasing nearly every visible trace of the Rocky star’s once-prized residence.

Daily construction activity has turned the site into a hive of machinery, workers, and scaffolding, signaling that this is not a cosmetic update but a full-scale reinvention.

According to the Daily Mail, the only recognizable remnant of Stallone’s era is the swimming pool, once a pristine centerpiece of the backyard. Even that has changed dramatically.

The famous statue of Stallone as Rocky, fist raised in victory, still stands beside the pool for now, offering the last visible nod to the home’s cinematic past.

Where Sylvester Stallone favored Mediterranean warmth and traditional materials, Adele’s plans lean firmly into ultra-modern design.

The rebuilt home is expected to feature expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, taking full advantage of the estate’s secluded setting.

Privacy allows for bold architectural choices, and the emerging structure reflects a clean, contemporary aesthetic far removed from the original house.

This dramatic shift has been years in the making. Construction has been ongoing since January 2022, with at least a dozen vehicles appearing on-site daily.

Builders have effectively established a semi-permanent camp, underscoring the complexity of the project.

Far from a quick flip, the rebuild has evolved into a long-term undertaking that rivals some of Los Angeles’ most ambitious private developments.

Industry insiders estimate the cost of the renovation could exceed $50 million, roughly matching the price Adele originally paid for the mansion.

Luxury renovation expert Leigh Ann Raines, owner of Chic By Design, believes the final figure will be staggering.

“When it's all said and done, it's reasonable to expect the investment for the finished and furnished home could be equivalent to what she paid for it, upwards of $50 million,” she said. “It may be another five years, easily another three, from completion.”

Raines added, “Now that the home is under roof, work will begin on the interiors. Fitting a home of this size and caliber is never rushed. This project is a major undertaking. Within the original footprint of the site, they have completely rebuilt the main home. The design-build team, including Valle Reinis, will be meticulous in carefully curating exactly what the couple wants.”

The sheer timeline reflects the level of customization involved. This is not about speed, but precision, craftsmanship, and long-term value.

Beyond design ambition, practical challenges have also shaped the project.

The property sits in a “very high” fire hazard severity zone, requiring specialized materials such as cool roofing systems. These safety demands add layers of complexity and cost.

Raines noted that external events may have further slowed progress.

“The January 2025 fires in the Pacific Palisades destroyed thousands of properties and likely contributed to some unexpected delays on Adele's home this year – that affluent community is vying for scarce specialized labor resources after the major disaster,” she said. “Having worked on complex renovations, it's fair to say that they often take longer and end up being more expensive than buying a new building.”

Such factors help explain why the rebuild has stretched into a multi-year endeavor, even by celebrity standards.

To bring her vision to life, Adele assembled an elite design and engineering team.

Architect Sylvia Kuhle, a partner at Standard Architecture, leads the architectural direction.

Her portfolio includes high-profile projects such as the Phare Tower in Paris, the Children’s Museum Los Angeles, and the Forest Knoll Residence, which sold in 2021 for over $23 million.

Structural engineer Derek Wavering, known for building luxury custom homes in Beverly Hills, is also part of the team.

Together with Valle Reinis, they are overseeing a rebuild that prioritizes longevity, safety, and bespoke detail.

As construction continues, one thing is already clear. The Beverly Park mansion no longer tells Sylvester Stallone’s story.

It is being rewritten, brick by brick, into a modern estate that reflects Adele’s taste, ambition, and willingness to invest heavily in creating a home entirely her own.
