Angel Reese Secures New Role In Season 2 Of This Netflix Drama

Does Angel Reese have Cardi B's newest song, "Check Please," on repeat? Just days after announcing her new role in the Stephen Curry-produced movie "GOAT," the Chicago Sky star has hinted at her latest acting collaboration with Netflix.

Angel Reese, known for her fiery on-court demeanor in the WNBA, has been leveraging the momentum of her 2023 NCAA national championship win. like nobody's business, securing lucrative deals with major brands such as Beats by Dre, Cash App, and McDonald's.

Reese is set to make an appearance in season 2 of Netflix's hit drama series, "The Hunting Wives," which stars Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman.

The series, based on the May Cobb novel of the same name, follows Sophie, a Boston PR professional who relocates to Texas and becomes entangled in an elite circle of women with dark secrets.

Reese shared photos of herself sitting in a director's chair on her Instagram Stories. In another post, the WNBA standout posed next to a trailer with basketball emojis posted on the screen.

Netflix confirmed the collaboration with a post of their own, announcing, "Angel Reese joins the cast of 'The Hunting Wives' in the co-starring role of 'Trainer Barbie.'"

Reese's upcoming appearance in "The Hunting Wives" really is no surprise, as the Maryland native verbalized her desire for the opportunity in the summer of 2025.

"Nglllll The Hunting Wives is a CRAZYYYY but good watch," Reese wrote on her X profile, prompting a response from the show's creator, Rebecca Cutter, thanking Reese for tuning in. "Just let me know if you need me for season 2," Reese replied.

This won't be Reese's first time in front of the camera either. Reese is joining forces with Golden State Warriors champion Stephen Curry and Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson in the upcoming sports film "GOAT."

According to The Blast, Reese will voice the character Propp, a polar bear "roarball" athlete, while Wilson and Curry will voice Kouyate, an American alligator, and Lenny Williamson, a giraffe, respectively.

Before that, Reese made an appearance in Idris Elba's "House of Dynamite," delivering a short cameo toward the end of the film.

During an episode of her podcast, Reese told guest Common that she's hoping to gain more experience in front of the camera.

"I want to get an acting coach," Reese said. "I was talking to Common — he's overseas right now shooting season 2 of 'Silo' — and he was telling me, 'You got to hire an acting coach.'"

Another milestone Reese celebrated in 2025 was becoming the first professional athlete to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show—an experience she also said she manifested.

According to The Blast, Reese expressed on social media how much attending the 2024 fashion event, which also marked Tyra Banks' epic return to the runway, meant to her, claiming she'd have her own pair of wings one day.

"I'm going to walk in a VS fashion show!" she said in 2024. "Mark my words!!!"

A year later, her aspirations materialized, calling the opportunity a "surreal and full-circle moment."

"... just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for," she said.

Fans are reacting to Reese's big news online, flooding the comment section with well-wishes and praise.

Reese's Chicago Sky teammate Kamilla Cardoso left a fire and a crown emoji, a subtle nod showing support.

The show's lead, Snow, commented, "We love you, Angel."

Another user wrote about Reese's unique ability to manifest the opportunities she wants at will. "Baby, the power of the tongue is undefeated. I know that's right, Angel!"

"This just made me 100x more excited for the new season, oh my gosh," another fan wrote.

"What can't she doooo," a fifth posted.

Reese's partnerships with Netflix and Victoria's Secret are just some of the deals the LSU alum has secured since rising to superstardom. One of her biggest, however, has to be with the footwear giant Reebok, which released the athlete's first signature shoe in September 2025.

During a previous livestream, Reese explained why she chose Reebok over other brands, such as Nike. "One, they didn't have a women's basketball player [who was the] face," she said. "So, I wanted to be that."

"They're [also] letting me be the creator behind everything that I want to do," she added. "I'm bringing Reebok back."
