Gordon Ramsay's Wife Breaks Silence On Skin Condition After His Cancer Diagnosis

Gordon Ramsay's wife, Tana Ramsay, is shedding light on her family's health.

The TV personality's significant other has addressed the latest health issues in their family. Tana has followed in her husband's steps with her own struggle with Melasma.

Gordon Ramsay himself also had some news recently, where he disclosed that he underwent surgery to get rid of some skin cancer cells last year.

The 51-year-old explained that her long moments in the sun have now left her battling a condition known as Melasma. According to her interview with The Times, which was published on Monday, January 19, Gordon's wife stated, "Gordon and I used to bake. Now I have Melasma."

As shared by Healthline, Melasma is a common skin condition that causes dark, discolored patches on the skin. It typically occurs on the face and is often symmetrical, with matching marks on both sides of the face. 

"I'll never forget going into a pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asking what the stains on my face were," Tana noted. She revealed that since her diagnosis, she has also become a lot more vigilant about the sun and always goes around with her favorite sunscreen.

Gordon took to his Instagram last year to disclose that he went in for surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma, which is a common form of skin cancer.

As noted by The Blast, Gordon shared two candid pictures of himself in the hospital, first of him wearing a bright blue training top with a large medical bandage covering the left side of his jawline near his ear.

The other picture revealed the stitches underneath his jaw and running in a line. Gordon continued his post with quick advice for his fans about the urgency of wearing sunscreen. The UK celebrity also expressed gratitude to his doctors for helping diagnose the condition early and nipping it in the bud.

Gordon's post immediately drew concern from his friends on social media, who sent their well-wishes and applauded him for going for a skincare check, right on time, too.

The chef was involved in a frightening accident in June 2024, which left him hospitalized. Gordon had experienced the crash while riding a bike in Connecticut, leaving him with intense bruising across his torso, while he narrowly escaped broken bones or serious injuries.

The chef, in his funny nature, shared the news with his followers, noting that the aftermath of the crash had him looking like a purple potato. The TV personality was grateful to the medical doctors for swiftly coming to his rescue and to his loyal helmet for saving his life.

2024 ended with good news for Gordon and his loved ones when he shared in December that his bruising had healed. He attached a brief clip of events that happened in the year in the post, a proof of how much he fought through unfortunate situations.

Tana and Gordon met at a New Year's Eve party in 1992, and the first impression was not a good one as Tana reportedly thought he was a "complete arrogant arse." The couple eventually tied the knot in 1996, and the chef opened a restaurant in 1998  in Chelsea with substantial financial assistance from Tana's dad.

Honey Nine noted that the couple maintained a traditional-style marriage where Gordon worked, and Tana stuck to domestic life, raising their four children who came in quick succession.

The couple welcomed all their kids through IVF following Tana's diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome and Gordon's low sperm count from working in a hot kitchen. Gordon rose to TV stardom years later, while Tana got busy documenting her cooking chronicles in not one, but three books.

By 2008, the couple was struck with two controversies, with the most impactful being an extramarital affair allegation on Gordon's part. Tana publicly supported her husband through the heat, insisting that honesty was not a scarce feature in the marriage.

The couple overcame that curve, and 8 years later, they announced they were going to be parents for the fifth time. The author went into labor five months pregnant, but unfortunately, had their baby boy, Rocky, a stillborn.

Last September, the chef experienced a shocking development in his home, although in his absence. The Blast shared that emergency services claimed that a call came in from Gordon's home, reporting that a shooting had occurred on the property.

The caller reportedly described himself as the shooter to the authorities, claiming that he was armed with a black revolver and had shot Gordon's brother and his nephew.

The shooter also expressed unwillingness to leave the Bel Air home due to heroin usage, prompting the law enforcement agents to report to the property, but they were met with casualties.

Gordon was allegedly out of the country when this episode occurred, and law enforcement had to speak to his personal assistant, who was on the property. Authorities also swung into action to unravel the identity of the caller, as they had received a similar call from the property last April.
