Mickey Rourke remains adamant that the GoFundMe created in his name was a scam aimed at exploiting fans.

The actor and former professional boxer recently doubled down on his fraud claims, claiming a female employee had tried to line her own pockets. However, his manager shared a different narrative.

Mickey Rourke became the subject of a charity project after financial woes became public knowledge. He is at risk of being evicted for owing rent and even faced the threat of losing one of his dogs.

Rourke called out a female employee, accusing her of attempting to scam fans by exploiting his financial struggles. "It was all a scam. That whole thing about the money was something that somebody who worked for me did to try and keep money for herself," he said about the GoFundMe project.

The former boxer argued that he would never ask strangers or fans for charity, declaring that he would rather shoot himself in the rear than ask people for money. He shared these views with TMZ after their reps spotted him exercising in L.A. over the weekend.

A GoFundMe spokesperson also told the outlet that after Rourke rejected the $100K through donations, they issued refunds on January 14. The rep vowed that every donor would receive 100 percent of their contributions back. On the other hand, Rourke's manager shared a different narrative.

Contrary to Rourke's claims, his manager told the outlet that the GoFundMe project was never a scam. Kimberly Hines argued that his words were "simply not true" as the donations were always meant for him and no one else.

Hines echoed similar sentiments to the GoFundMe rep, noting that refunds were processed after Rourke rejected the donations. "I'm busy negotiating 3 contracts for him and in constant communication with him," the manager continued.

"So obviously nothing has changed except him impulsively saying things that are not factual," Hines concluded. It is unclear if she is the female employee Rourke called out for allegedly trying to exploit fans; however, it appears both sides are in disagreement over what happened.

Besides the GoFundMe drama, Rourke made waves over his longtime companion's health. His dog, Ivan, was suffering from heart disease and needed an operation that could cost $10k and above, money Rourke did not have.

Although the situation seemed dire, Rourke revealed in his recent chat with the outlet that Ivan was no longer in danger. He did not share how the funds for the operation were raised, but confirmed the surgery had been paid for.

"He's doing all right. He's gonna hold up," Rourke said about his dog's condition. The update came days after the former boxer penned a heated message about the GoFundMe set up in his name.

Rourke first addressed the GoFundMe drama on Instagram, with The Blast reporting that he penned a lengthy statement about not authorizing the project. He described the situation as "a cruel embarrassment," noting he never wanted people's money.

According to Rourke, he was "sooo upset & embarrassed" that he had his attorney start working to get people back their donations. He also implored fans and donors to get their money back, doubling down on the GoFundMe being a scam to fill someone else's pockets.

Rourke echoed similar sentiments in an additional post, vowing that there would be "severe repercussions" for the person who used his name to collect money. Despite his financial situation, Rourke stressed that he did not want fans' donations but their prayers for his pal, Eric Dane, amid his ALS battle.

Many rushed to raise money for Rourke after his housing situation became public in December 2025. A complaint was issued against him for ignoring an earlier notice to pay $60,000 in back rent to his landlord, Eric Goldie.

Rourke was given three days to pay the amount owed or be evicted from the property. The Blast reported earlier this month that his manager seemingly implied the actor wasn't doing everything within his power to escape his dire financial situation.

Hines revealed that Rourke had turned down multiple job offers because he wanted a high-paying job like those of famous A-listers. He reportedly wanted roles that paid at least $200,000 per day, and projects that starred other popular stars and crew members.
