While Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are gearing up to face off in court, the author of"It Ends With Us" is staying away from the drama to prioritize her health.
Colleen Hoover, who is the author of the book and movie adaptation that started the legal drama, recently clarified the state of her well-being amid growing concerns. She first announced her cancer diagnosis in December 2025.
"It Ends With Us" author initially seemed to be on Blake Lively's side after the latter sued Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and running a smear campaign against her. She later changed her tune and distanced herself from the ongoing legal war, citing embarrassment.

Hoover addressed the widespread speculations about her health just days after revealing she had been undergoing radiation therapy at Texas Oncology. She explained that her previous social media posts about her treatments had been misunderstood.
"Just clarification because of some misleading clickbait making it sound like I'm on my deathbed or something, but I do not have cancer anymore," Hoover declared in a Facebook post. She noted that she had been diagnosed with cancer sometime in 2025.
Although she did not specify the diagnosis timeline, Hoover stressed that she no longer had cancer thanks to a successful surgery to remove the problem. "Just finished radiation yesterday. I am done and good, and all is well and has been well. My doctors doctored. Hell yeah," she concluded.

Hoover's cancer diagnosis first made waves in December 2025 when she broke the news in a post. Her statement was reposted by media personality, Katyinkc, on Instagram, who covered the story for those who had no knowledge about the author's health scare.
In the post, Hoover explained that the cancer had been removed via surgery, and she would need to undergo radiation instead of chemotherapy. She also noted that her health began to go downhill while filming "Reminders of Him," a movie adaptation of one of her books.
Hoover confessed that she did not share the news with fans because she wasn't ready to be vulnerable until she knew the outcome of her surgery. However, fans began suspecting something was amiss with the author in March 2025 following a bizarre post.

Last year, The Blast reported that Hoover had sparked concerns about her well-being after she shared a strange video on her Instagram Story. The post captured her making ice cubes out of Pepsi, a simple task that left many worried because of Hoover's slow, dazed delivery.
One fan described her behavior as "very sad," while another hoped she was okay and implored those in Hoover's inner circle to do a welfare check. The concerns skyrocketed when Hoover shared another video where she ranted about an employee named Stephanie.
In the video, Hoover complained that Stephanie had accidentally sold her merchandise five times cheaper than their actual price. She joked that she was going broke and could fire all her employees to retire as an author. Following fans' worries, Hoover later clarified that she was fine.

A month before announcing her cancer diagnosis, The Blast reported that Hoover had addressed the ongoing legal drama between Lively and Baldoni. The author confessed that she was "completely unaware that anything was happening" on the movie set.
Hoover explained that she had no idea what transpired between the former co-stars as she only appeared for a few days of filming. She described Lively's allegations of misconduct as "unfortunate" and "disappointing," comparing the legal drama to "a circus."
Despite initially appearing to support Lively in the case, Hoover stressed that she did not want to pick sides and hoped she could be "removed from the negativity." Additionally, she admitted that the media storm made her "almost embarrassed" to be the author of "It Ends With Us."
Colleen Hoover Cleared Her Social Media Of Blake Lively's Pictures

Months before addressing the legal drama, The Blast shared in February 2025 that Hoover had made a shocking move. She seemingly voiced her disinterest in being associated with the controversial case by doing a social media cleanse.
After a brief hiatus, Hoover returned to Instagram and deleted all the posts related to Lively. This move shocked many as the media personality had appeared to be in the actress's corner, even issuing a statement supporting her in December 2024.
When Lively dropped her claims against Baldoni, Hoover dropped a picture of her hugging the actress on her Instagram Story alongside a statement. The author praised Lively as "honest, kind, and supportive," imploring her to "Never change. Never wilt."
