Jennifer Lopez And Cole Walliser’s Actual Red Carpet Exchange

A few days ago, E! News took to their Instagram page with the clip that brought Jennifer Lopez under fire.

During the 2026 Golden Globes, the actress arrived at the Glambot station wearing a long-sleeved, vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer by Stéphane Rolland mermaid-silhouette gown.

As she approached, Walliser greeted her warmly, saying, “Hi, my dear.” Lopez reportedly glanced up briefly before responding with a short “Hi” and looking back down.

Walliser followed up with, “Lovely to see you again, you look amazing!” Still looking down, Lopez replied, “Nice to see you,” without making eye contact.

When he asked, “Do you have an idea of a move, or are you just gonna give a little look or pose?” she did not verbally respond but showed him her intended pose instead.

Cole Walliser Addresses Jennifer Lopez Controversy

As criticism continued to build, Walliser addressed the situation directly on Instagram

He opened his video by saying that the internet needs to just calm down, before explaining that he personally took no offense.

According to the 44-year-old, he didn’t take it personally and Lopez’s actions didn’t feel rude to him in that moment.

He explained that several factors contributed to how the interaction looked on camera, noting, “I think there’s a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she’s just down to business.”

Walliser added that the carpet was already closed and Lopez was focused on moving inside.

“She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position,” he said, explaining that her body was turned away simply because she was preparing for the shot.

Cole Walliser emphasized that he fully understood what Jennifer Lopez was doing at the time.

“I knew what she was doing. I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn’t feel rude,” he said.

He also stressed that stopping for the Glambot is optional, calling it a generous choice by celebrities.

“Anybody that stops [for the Glambot], I already like you because you’re taking the time to do my thing,” Walliser shared, adding that red carpets are generally insane.

He explained that celebrities are often working under pressure, saying, “These celebrities, they’re at work. They’re there to do a thing to promote their show, to be a guest, to be a presenter… they’re working.”

Jennifer Lopez Slammed For Being Rude At Met Gala

The 2026 Golden Globes incident wasn’t the first time Lopez faced backlash for her behavior.

The star courted controversy at the 2024 Met Gala when a brief red carpet moment with a reporter went viral and drew heavy online criticism.

As one of the event’s co-chairs, Lopez walked up the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase in New York City while USA Today senior news editor Anika Reed asked her, “Who are you wearing tonight?”

According to a video shared by Reed on TikTok, the “Marry Me” actress simply replied “Schiaparelli” in a terse tone, then continued up the steps without engaging further with the reporter or other journalists clamoring for attention.

One commenter online wrote, “Ew, why does she have the attitude?” while another joked about her “up & down stare” as she walked past the cameras.
