The loss is especially painful for Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills Mafia, as the team has reached the playoffs for seven straight years under Allen's leadership, but has yet to emerge victorious. And, with superstar quarterbacks such as Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow out of the picture, it seemed this was the year that Allen would take the New York team all the way. But the Broncos had other plans, leading to a painful admission from Allen and mixed reactions across social media.

Josh Allen Gets Real About Mistakes During Season-Ending Contest

Allen finished the game with a 64.1% passing completion rate (25-of-39) for 283 yards. Allen also committed four turnovers—two interceptions and two fumbles during critical moments.

"We can’t win with five turnovers," he said. "Fumbled twice, threw two [interceptions]. When you shoot yourself in the foot like that, you don’t deserve to win football games."

Following the Broncos' win over the Bills, coach Sean Payton returned to the media room to deliver "not good news" regarding his superstar quarterback, Bo Nix.

According to ESPN, Nix, 25, fractured his right ankle just three plays before the game concluded in overtime, requiring surgery and ultimately ending the Oregon alum's sophomore season.

"[Nix] is a tough cookie," Payton told the media. "I said, 'Listen, I believe you're the second quarterback in his second year to take his team to the [conference] championship game and the first is [Patrick] Mahomes.' ... We'll rise up for the next challenge."
