In an effort to gain freedom amid his confinement behind bars ahead of his trial, Busfield has shared personal information about his marriage and sex life via a psychosexual evaluation.
The details were revealed in a Friday filing by Busfield's legal team, as they intend to use them to argue that the actor is not a threat to public safety despite the child sexual abuse allegations against him.
According to the Daily Mail, Busfield stated in the filing that he has a "satisfying sex life" with Gilbert, but nowadays, they "enjoy cuddling more than sex."
The actor then noted that he sometimes m-asturbates in the shower as it is "easier" for him, although he he has not done this in the last six months.

Per TMZ, he claimed that he "always had a visceral response to pornography and has never found it to be sexually satisfying."
Melissa Gilbert Pleads For Husband Timothy Busfield's Protection Amid Child Sex Abuse Allegations

Gilbert submitted a heartfelt letter to the court advocating for her husband after the serious allegations against him.
The letter, part of more than 75 submitted by friends, family, and colleagues, asked the judge to ensure Busfield's safety.
In it, Gilbert described Busfield as her emotional anchor and lifelong partner, both personally and professionally.
"Tim Busfield is my love, my rock, my partner in business and life. He is my comfort and my council. His joy, humor, and quick wit bring sparkle to my life," she wrote, per People Magazine, calling him the emotional center of their extended family.
The actress praised his character, describing him as deeply compassionate, morally grounded, and committed to serving others.
As the letter continued, she acknowledged the emotional toll the situation had taken on her, admitting that she struggled to balance reason with overwhelming emotion.
"I only want this extraordinary man safe and whole," she wrote, explaining that while Busfield has always been her protector, she now feels powerless to protect him herself.
She concluded with a heartfelt plea, asking the judge to "protect" her husband during this time, saying that her inability to do so has been the most painful part of the ordeal for her.
Melissa Gilbert's Comments On Child Sexual Abuse Resurface Amid Husband's Arrest

Weeks before Busfield's legal troubles became public, Gilbert spoke out about child sexual abuse and the pressures faced by young actors in Hollywood.
In November, the "Little House on the Prairie" actress, 61, addressed Jeffrey Epstein and recalled being just 15 when she was expected to "fall in love with and kiss" Dean Butler, who was eight years her senior, on the set of the popular Western series.
Butler played Almanzo Wilder, the love interest and eventual husband of Gilbert's character, Laura Ingalls Wilder.
She reflected on the experience in an Instagram post, writing, "I am actually nauseated. The girl on vacation in Hawaii with her family is the same girl who was expected to 'fall in love with' and kiss a man on film who was several years older than she was."
She added, "Through the lens of today, this is shocking. I have no words other than to say, 'I WAS A CHILD.' 'I WAS FIFTEEN.' And I was the good news. I am so fortunate (Sort of). Many other young women aren't."
Timothy Busfield Accused Of Abusing Twin Boys While Directing 'The Cleaning Lady'

According to an arrest warrant released by the Albuquerque Police Department, Busfield is accused of sexual contact with two 11-year-old twins and child abuse while directing the Fox show "The Cleaning Lady" in 2024.
Investigators say the abuse reportedly began when the boys were just 7 years old. The case initially came to light in November 2024 when a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital reported suspected grooming and sexual abuse.
Charges were not immediately filed, but the case was reopened in September 2025 after one of the children disclosed that Busfield "touched him on his penis and bottom" to a counselor and pediatrician.
The warrant alleges that Busfield asked the twins to call him "Uncle Tim" and engaged in inappropriate touching, including tickling their stomachs and legs.
When questioned by authorities in November 2025, he reportedly admitted that physical contact "was highly likely" but claimed not to "remember those boys."
Busfield also suggested that the children's mother was seeking revenge because her sons were not invited back for the show's final season, and he allegedly mentioned that lead actress Elodie Yung had been aware of the situation.
The Actor Faces New Sexual Abuse Allegation Involving A Teenage Girl

In a separate pretrial detention motion filed on January 14 and obtained by People, Busfield was hit with an additional allegation of sexual abuse.
According to the motion, Colin Swift, the father of another alleged victim, informed authorities on January 13 that Busfield reportedly abused Swift's daughter several years ago in Sacramento, California.
The document alleges that "while auditioning for [Busfield] at B Street Theatre, the 16-year-old reported that [Busfield] kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates."
Busfield is also said to have "begged the family to not report to law enforcement if he received therapy."
At the time, Swift, who is a therapist, reportedly decided that complying with Busfield's request for treatment was the best course of action.
Following the filing of the new allegation in the pretrial detention motion, Busfield's civil attorney, Larry Stein, released a statement to People.
He emphasized that the claims are decades old and have never been proven or formally disputed.
"The allegations were never challenged, they were never proved, and they're 25 years old, and there doesn't seem to be any connection between these allegations regarding women 25 years ago and the allegations regarding these young boys," Stein said.
