Timothy Busfield has received support from other Hollywood stars amid his child sexual abuse scandal.
The embattled actor, who was charged with sexually abusing two boys on a TV series set, has denied the accusation, vowing to "fight it" as it is all "lies."
Timothy Busfield has also faced another child abuse accusation as a second man filed a lawsuit claiming the actor had sexually abused his daughter "several years ago" in California.
Hollywood Stars Defend Timothy Busfield Amid His Legal Battle

Several actors and actresses have thrown in words of support for Timothy Busfield after the 68-year-old actor ran afoul of the law on accusations of child sex abuse.
"The West Wing" alum surrendered to New Mexico authorities on Tuesday after a warrant for his arrest was issued days earlier, alleging he inappropriately touched 2 boys on the set of "The Cleaning Lady" between 2022 and 2024.
He has denied any wrongdoing, but is currently being held without bond. However, his lawyers recently filed a motion arguing that prosecutors don't have "proof" he's a danger to the community, and should be released on bond.
The legal document contained shouts of support for the embattled actor's character from many of his Hollywood colleagues, including actor and director Peter Horton, Patricia Wettig, and Mackenzie Astin.
In his brief, Horton explained how he first met Busfield when auditioning for the TV series "Thirtysomething" in the late 80s before going on to strike a close friendship on the set of the show.
"Tim is not only a great actor and a really good director, more than all of that, Tim is a good man," he said, per the Daily Mail. "I offer this perspective to you from not only a fellow artist and friend, but as a fellow father of two girls who knows the power and necessity of having a good dad."
Other Actors Praise Timothy Busfield

In the same way, Wettig, who starred beside Busfield as his wife on the show and had to film several intimate scenes with him, praised him for his professionalism and said he was "humble and caring" throughout.
She vouched for him, saying he always made sure any kid on the show "felt comfortable," adding that "he is a wonderful man and I trust him completely."
It was much the same sentiment for Astin, who starred in "First Years," which Busfield directed 2 episodes. He praised Busfield for saving his career after he struggled with alcohol addiction in the early 2000s. When he returned to Hollywood in 2010 following a stint in rehab, he shared how Busfield gave him a role on a TV show, which helped his recovery tremendously.
He said, "That job made a significant impact on my recovery. I was reminded that I was capable as an actor, and that the new life I had begun, the sober life, would be rewarded."
Timothy Busfield's Wife Comes To His Defense As Intimate Details About Their Marriage Are Revealed

Busfield's wife, Melissa Gilbert, didn't fail to lend her voice to the cause, as she pleaded with the judge to "protect" her husband while noting he's a "compassionate and honorable" man.
In the recent filings, Busfield also gave a peek into their bedroom escapades, saying they have a "satisfying sex life" but that they "enjoy cuddling more than sex."
The document also stated that Busfield would sometimes m-sturbate while having a shower, as it is "easier," saying the last time he did so was six months ago, per the Daily Mail.
Elsewhere in the document, Busfield's lawyers claim their client's accusers only came up with the accusations after losing their role in the show, noting that their claims could be financially motivated or just a way to retaliate.
They pointed to a private investigation by Warner Bros. that found no corroborating evidence of misconduct on set, and were quite particular as to how the prosecutors didn't include it in their criminal complaint.
The Actor Denied All The Allegations Against Him

Busfield has denied all allegations and insists on his innocence.
"They're all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys, and I'm gonna fight it," he told TMZ in a statement.
Busfield added, "I'm gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and lies."
He's due to appear in court on January 20, as a judge is expected to determine whether or not he should remain in custody until trial.
Timothy Busfield Has Also Been Accused Of Sexually Abusing A Teenage Girl

Busfield's legal woes were seemingly compounded after another victim's father, Colin Swift, filed sexual abuse allegations against him, claiming the actor assaulted his daughter "several years ago" in California, per People Magazine.
"While auditioning for [Busfield] at B Street Theatre, the 16-year-old reported that [Busfield] kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates," Swift's motion read.
Busfield allegedly "begged the family to not report to law enforcement if he received therapy," and Swift, being a "therapist himself, thought at the time that was the best thing to do."
