R&B singer Ne-Yo is detailing some of the challenges of having "one relationship" with three different women.
According to a previous report from The Blast, Ne-Yo opened up about being in a polyamorous relationship, likening his connections with multiple women to a "family."
Ne-Yo Attempts To Explain His Unconventional Relationship With Three Women
Speaking with Sherri Shepherd during an episode of her daily talk show, Ne-Yo broke down the dynamics of his polyamorous relationship with three different women.
"I’ll keep this brief," he said. "So after my very public, very ugly divorce, I made the decision that I was never going to tell another lie to a woman ever again in life."
As many know, Ne-Yo has made headlines in the past after his previous romantic partners accused the "So Sick" singer of cheating and having children with other women.
Ne-Yo Says He Doesn't Want To Hurt His Partners The Way He Did In The Past

According to Ne-Yo, he doesn't want to make the same mistakes he made in his past relationships, saying, "I own the thing that I did in that marriage to mess it up. I own it completely."
Ne-Yo continued, "And I decided I didn’t want to be the reason that anybody ever felt like that ever again."
This isn't the first time Ne-Yo, 46, has shared the intimate details of his relationship with multiple women. In the past, he told radio personality Rickey Smiley that his polyamorous relationship is like a "family." In fact, he called it a "community," adding, "That's what it's all about."
Ne-Yo Used To Have Four Girlfriends, But One Recently Departed The Group

Elsewhere during his conversation with Sherri Shepherd, Ne-Yo revealed that he used to have four girlfriends; however, one of them recently departed the group, seemingly allowing him to forge deeper connections with the others.
The "Miss Independent" performer then recalled an uncomfortable conversation he had with "one of the three" women he'd been dating.
"I basically went to her and said, ‘Listen, you know I rock with you. You know I love you, but I have to be honest with you. It’s not just you,'" he told her. "I would love for you to meet these other women, and if we can figure out a way to do something together, cool. If not, that’s cool, too.'"
Following that, the three women decided to stick around—something Ne-Yo is extremely grateful for.
What Challenges Come With Dating Three Different Women?

Ne-Yo admitted that keeping up with three different women can be a bit of a challenge, saying, "We figure out ways to make everything work." He added that each woman "gets their individual time," however, the "group time is just as important."
Now, when it comes to making each woman feel special, Ne-Yo shared that he's unable to do "blanket stuff" and get away with it.
When Shepherd said that keeping up with everyone's individual needs "seems like more work," the "Irreplaceable" writer implied that he was more than up for the challenge.
"I’ve never been afraid of hard work. Never ever," he said.
The Singer's Ex Speaks Out About Their Relationship

According to a previous report from The Blast, Ne-Yo's ex-fiancée, Monyetta Shaw, opened up about some of the struggles the pair allegedly faced in their relationship.
Speaking with a podcaster, Shaw claimed that she was previously offered a full-time spot on Bravo's "Real Housewives of Atlanta." However, she claimed she had to turn it down because Ne-Yo was reportedly concerned about how it could affect his career.
"He was like, 'No, you know my management said it's going to ruin my career,'" the reality star shared. "And I chose family 'cause that's what I do, you know, I'm all about family."
Later, Shaw got candid about her past relationship with Ne-Yo, which allegedly included bringing outsiders into their bedrooms.
"Well, you know he just — he wasn't ready, okay. So yeah, we cheated together, if that makes sense. And then it just wasn't enough, and I was like, 'Well, no. I didn't sign up to do this every day,'" she confessed. "We did things together, so it's not cheating if you're involved with it."
Shaw admitted, though, that after some time, Ne-Yo allegedly began wanting other women in addition to her—something that left her unsettled.
"I'm just very multifaceted, and that's where I was at that time, but it became a problem when you want that, you know, a lot. Like, maybe I'll give you maybe twice a year…or three times," she said. "I'm like, 'Oh, If you want that, you don't want me. You know, it was making it seem like I'm not enough."
