Mandy Moore is getting raw and honest about the end of some friendships in her life.

Her revelations follow Ashley Tisdale’s explosive essay, in which she opened up about cutting ties with her former mom group, which Moore was allegedly part of.

Although members of the group have been largely silent since the essay was published, sources claim that Moore was unhappy with the way things went down, as she felt “unfairly portrayed” in Tisdale’s essay.

Moore was recently featured on the “Conversations with Cam” podcast, with host Cameron Rogers. During the deeply revealing conversation, the singer opened up about the evolution of friendships in her life.

She noted that things have changed since having children, and she is finding herself getting closer to people whose kids are the same age as hers.

“I have friends who have kids that are older, let’s say. And I have found that the people I am closest with in my life right now are people who are kind of at the same chapter of their lives as parents," she said, according to People Magazine.

As a result, some of her relationships have had to evolve.

Moore explained, "Like, we have kids the same age and I've had to sort of mourn in a way, not the loss of those friendships, but like how they've, they've changed."

The 41-year-old actress and mother of three noted that the changing dynamics don't necessarily mean that she loves anyone less; it's just reality. In her words:

“I think that it’s no one's fault and no one's doing anything wrong, and it doesn’t mean you love anyone less. But the reality is you’re going to be in more contact with the people whose kids are your exact age.”

Moore’s revealing statements come amid the drama that ensued after Tisdale spoke openly about leaving Moore, Hilary Duff, and other members of her mom group behind.

The Cut published a personal essay, which highlighted the struggles Tisdale went through while navigating friendships in her mom group.

Not holding back, the Disney alum shared that she had begun to feel alienated from the group following a string of events. And when it got too overwhelming for her, she decided to call it quits.

“I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” she penned, as reported by The Blast.

She decided to send a message to her former friends, letting them know how she felt. She told them that the drama was a bit “too high school” for her and, as such, she wanted out.

After Tisdale’s essay was published, it was met with widespread reactions from fans online. Although none of the group members came forward to directly address the drama, Duff’s husband, Mathew Koma, mocked Tisdale by sharing a replica of her photoshoot for her essay on The Cut.

Koma posted a picture of himself photoshopped onto Tisdale’s body, with a sarcastic caption, tagging the actress as “self-obsessed” and “tone deaf.”

Shortly after, Moore took to Instagram to shower Koma with praises for being “one [of] the most talented and generous humans” she is “lucky” enough to know.

According to The Blast, she highlighted his generosity in how he gave her and her family a place to stay during the Palisades fire and concluded by writing, “Love you, MB!!”

Although Moore’s post didn’t address the feud with Tisdale, its timing further highlighted the closeness between her and Duff despite all the drama.

Amid Moore’s silence in the feud, inside sources claim that she was unhappy with Tisdale’s essay, and so was Duff.

“They all feel blindsided and hurt by Ashley speaking out the way she did. From their perspective, they believed the group was supportive and coming from a good place, and they never thought there was any bad intent behind how things played out,” the source said, per The Blast.

Moore and Duff also reportedly felt like the essay painted them in a bad light, and there was no “mean girl” behaviour intended from their end.

Ashley Tisdale Didn’t Feel ‘Cool Enough’ For Her Former Friends

After Tisdale’s essay was published, more information came to light, revealing that she felt a gradual shift in the dynamics with her former friends, which ultimately led to the decision to walk away.

According to The Blast, Tisdale was excluded from “group hangs” and began to feel as if she wasn’t “cool enough” to be with them anymore.

At first, she used to find comfort in the group of “new moms” because they made her “hopeful about finding the balance between fulfilling work and family life.”

However, over time, things turned sour, and it soon became clear that the boat of friendship was headed for disaster.
