Elon Musk says he will seek full custody of his one-year-old son after the child's mother, Ashley St. Clair, apologized for past anti-trans remarks and voiced support for the transgender community.

The billionaire claimed her statements implied openness to transitioning a child, though there is no evidence she suggested this.

Ashley St. Clair, a former conservative influencer, denies the claim and is also pursuing sole custody of her child amid her public feud with Elon Musk.

Musk has said he intends to pursue full custody of his one-year-old son following public comments made by the child's mother, St. Clair, expressing support for the transgender community.

In a post on X early Monday, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO responded to another user by stating that he would be "filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy."

Musk wrote that these statements prompted his decision to seek sole custody. However, there is no clear evidence that St. Clair has ever suggested she would allow her son to medically or socially transition.

What she has done recently, however, is publicly walk back previous statements she made about transgender people and issue an apology for what she described as past harm.

The social media influencer, who disclosed last year that she had given birth to what she claimed was Musk's 13th child, had previously built an online following as a conservative commentator known for her outspoken right-wing opinions.

St. Clair's shift in tone on transgender issues drew attention over the weekend after she responded to criticism on X regarding earlier remarks.

In her response, she said she felt deep remorse for things she had said in the past, acknowledging that they may have caused pain, including to the sibling of her son.

St. Clair added that she has been making efforts privately to educate herself and support members of the transgender community, whom she believes she hurt.

The influencer also explained that she had hesitated to speak publicly on the issue, saying her comments would likely be dismissed as insincere or framed as a reaction to personal conflict.

"Even this reply will become right-wing hysteria, but yeah, I am sorry. Let me know how I can help," St. Clair added, per the New York Post.

Musk's reaction came after another X user encouraged him to pursue full custody in light of St. Clair's apology and apparent change in perspective. Notably, Musk has a transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who publicly came out in 2022.

The dispute is the latest development in a broader custody battle between the two. In August, St. Clair spoke openly about her ongoing custody dispute with Musk, describing the previous year as what she called "unplanned career suicide."

During the debut episode of her podcast, "Bad Advice," which streams on Musk's X platform, she reflected on the personal and professional fallout she says followed her relationship with the billionaire.

"Well, after a year of unplanned career suicide, many questionable life choices, and a gap in my LinkedIn profile that cannot be legally explained, I've decided to start a podcast," St. Clair said during the episode.

She added that financial pressure played a role in the decision, claiming she was facing eviction at the time.

St. Clair said a $10,000 ad deal with Polymarket helped cover her housing costs. "So with that, the roof over my head has been brought to you by Polymarket," she said.

St. Clair has said she and Musk first connected on X and later began a relationship while working together in San Francisco, a claim she shared with the New York Post in February.

On February 14, she announced on X that she and Musk share a son identified by the initials R.S.C. The child's first name was later confirmed in April as Romulus.

The custody dispute has since escalated. St. Clair is now seeking sole custody of their son. In March, Musk publicly denied St. Clair's claims that he financially retaliated against their child.

In a post on X, Musk said that "despite not knowing for sure" whether the child is his, he has provided financial support, stating that he had given St. Clair $2.5 million and was sending $500,000 annually.

St. Clair pushed back against Musk's claims, alleging that he refused to take a paternity test.

"Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born," she wrote in response.

She further claimed that the money Musk referenced was intended as support for their son, not for her personally, and accused him of later reducing that support to exert control.

"You weren't sending *me* money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary… until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for disobedience," she wrote. "But you're really only punishing your son."
