Meghan King is entering the new year on a reflective note.
The reality TV star shared a vulnerable post, looking back on her losses following a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds.
Edmonds and King were set for a court hearing in December. However, they reached an agreement before the scheduled court date, and their three children are now in the primary custody of the former MLB star.
Meghan King Gets Candid In Heartfelt Reflective Post

King ushered in the close of 2025 and the start of 2026 with a vulnerable statement on social media. The reality TV alum took to Instagram to share a striking photo of herself standing alone in a softly lit, Christmas-decorated hallway.
In the caption, she reflected on her losses and penned a short note about being resilient despite all odds.
“I’ve carried loss in lonely rooms, made decisions with shaking hands. I didn’t break. I bent, adjusted, kept going when disappearing would’ve been easier. 2025 is over, yet I stand,” it read.
In the photograph King shared, she was noticeably alone, without any of the three children she shares with her ex, Jim Edmonds.
King and Edmonds got married in 2014. However, they separated in 2019 and finalized their divorce in 2021, following a lengthy divorce process.
Meghan King Reached a Custody Agreement Over Her Children With Ex Jim Edmonds

King’s deeply reflective post came weeks after she reached a custody agreement regarding the battle for her kids.
After months of uncertainty and emotional strain, King and the former MLB star were able to resolve their custody dispute over their three children, Aspen, 9, and 7-year-old twins Hart and Hayes.
The former couple had been preparing for a judge to weigh in on custody matters in December 2025, per The Blast. However, they reached a private agreement that reshaped their family dynamic.
Under the new arrangement, Edmonds will have primary custody, with the children living full-time with him in Tennessee. King, while no longer their primary caregiver, will still spend designated time with her kids, including several weeks together each summer.
King Spent Thanksgiving Without Her Children

Before King and Edmonds reached a custody agreement, the reality TV star was forced to spend Thanksgiving without her family.
The emotional weight of the custody loss became especially visible over the holiday weekend, when Edmonds spent it surrounded by their children. Edmonds, now holding primary custody, marked the holiday by sharing glimpses on social media.
According to The Blast, photos showed the former athlete celebrating with the kids and his wife, Kortnie, at a Tennessee ranch, smiling and relaxed as they posed together. The holiday weekend also doubled as a birthday celebration for Aspen, complete with flashy pink decorations and lavish gifts.
Why Meghan King Lost Custody Of Her Children In The First Place

The turning point in King’s custody battle reportedly stemmed from an incident that quickly escalated beyond her control.
According to The Blast, the former reality TV star temporarily lost custody of her three children after allegations surfaced that she administered unprescribed medication to one of her twin sons.
The situation prompted an immediate response from child protection authorities, which eventually led to the kids being removed from her care.
Sources alleged that matters intensified when King reportedly asked the school nurse to administer the medication, Ritalin, to her son, despite there being no official ADHD diagnosis. That request raised red flags, prompting school officials to notify the relevant authorities and triggering a Child Protective Services investigation.
In the aftermath, custody of Aspen, Hart, and Hayes was temporarily transferred to King’s ex-husband.
The "RHOC" alum was later granted limited access, seeing her children under supervised visitation, as officials continued reviewing whether the custody change would become permanent.
Meghan King Received Support From ‘RHOC’ Pals Amid Custody Battle

After King lost custody of her children, she received support free from judgment from her former “Real Housewives of Orange County” castmates.
The encouragement became evident during a November 23 fundraiser for The Innocence Center, where Emily Simpson, Shannon Beador, and Gina Kirschenheiter addressed the situation with notable restraint.
Rather than fueling speculation, the women urged the public to slow down and resist passing judgment on a story filled with legal complexities and deeply personal stakes. Simpson, who has openly shared her own challenges as a parent, emphasized how unfair outside scrutiny can be when people don’t know the full picture.
"I have a lot going on with [my son] Luke, whom I have had for six months, and I would hate for someone to judge anything going on. I don't know the circumstances. I don't know the facts of this situation, so I don't want to speculate and make a judgment,” Simpson said, per The Blast.
Kirschenheiter and the others echoed that sentiment, pointing out that much of the information circulating came from court documents that should have remained private for the children’s sake.
