Jaime King Reportedly Dating Again Post Engagement After Custody Loss

Jaime King might be taking the "new year, new me" saying quite seriously. 

The TV star may have just closed the chapter of her life where her engagement to investment banker Austin Sosa holds. The pair have done an incredible job keeping the details of their relationship on the low so far, but now it seems they have called it quits.

Jaime King and her ex-husband, Kyle Newman, who share two sons, were together for 13 years before their divorce. Their split was a bitter process that saw the actress lose custody of her sons. 

King has been engaged to her beau, Sosa, since July 2025, but her new moves are suggesting that the engagement is now over. The actress has been spotted out in LA recently with hotelier Vikram Chatwal.

Sosa and King reportedly met in December 2024 through friends and, in less than a year, were ready to walk down the aisle. At the time, she was happy to share the moment with her children, who had already built a loving bond with Sosa and his family.

Something romantic now seems to be kindled between King and Vikram as they were seen looking affectionate with one another at Chateau Marmont last week. They were also spotted together again just days later at Vikram's own Bombay Palace restaurant.

Vickram, a well-known hotelier, is the son of legendary hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal. Not much of him has popped up in recent headlines as he has been lying uncharacteristically low lately. 

He is part of the crew that opened the Chatwal Hotel in the Lambs Club building in Times Square. As for his dating life, according to Page Six, the 54-year-old has been previously linked to Spanish model Esther Cañadas and Padma Lakshmi.

Vickram also made news for having the most expensive wedding in history.  In 2006, he married Indian socialite Priya Sachdev in a ceremony that reportedly cost $20 million. The union lasted till 2011 when they called it quits.

As mentioned earlier, King and Sosa got engaged in July 2025. The actual timeline and detailed happenings of their relationship remain unclear as they both kept a low profile on social media.

King barely shared updates about their relationship, probably due to her experience with her ex-husband and their business being all up in the media.

The Blast shared the first sighting of the diamond ring on her left ring finger, which Sosa proposed with. She was seen rocking their gem as she left Sally Hershberger Salon in West Hollywood.

The lovebirds reportedly had a blossoming relationship, and King was even staying with Sosa's parents for a while.

Following their divorce, the estranged lovers went head-on to win full custody of their two sons, James and Leo. King lost physical custody of the boys but was awarded shared legal custody with Newman, having the upper hand in legal decisions. 

The "Hart of Dixie" star also earned visitation rights, allowing her to see her sons twice a week for specific periods, but only in the presence of an authorised supervisor.

Approved supervisors for the visits include her mother, sister, and brother-in-law. This was ruled due to King's alcohol and drug addiction struggles.

King was required to undergo a 6-month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program along with weekly testing and aftercare. The Blast noted that these and other series of mandated programs must be completed before she would be granted unsupervised access.

Appearing on a podcast with Jana Kramer in April last year, King wore her heart on her sleeve, sharing her fears about the child custody system. She described the experience as terrifying before reflecting on her past notions of marriage and child custody. 

The Hollywood star shared that in getting married really young,  she was not prepared for the realities of marriage and possibly divorce.

As The Blast reported, King did not hold back as she recounted her struggles with the process and even claimed her husband had manipulated the facts to win in the custody case.

King stated that she is determined to fulfil her role as a mother and protect her children. She is also determined to advocate for change and reforms in the system.
