Rain explained that the man responsible was later ruled legally insane by a judge.

While Rain and her housemates were out of town for the Super Bowl, the individual allegedly forced his way into the home, broke into her bedroom, and began settling in under the belief that he and Rain were married.

“He broke down the door, brought a suitcase, took all of his clothes out, and put them in my drawers,” she said. “He thought that we were married.”

The timing, she emphasized, may have prevented a much worse outcome.

“Thank God,” Rain said. “We would have been home if we didn’t go.”

The situation came to light when Rain’s friend Ava returned to the house and encountered the man inside.

At first, Ava believed he was a maintenance worker, but that assumption quickly unraveled.

“He said he was married to Sophie and that this was his house because he just bought it,” Rain recalled.

Recognizing the danger, Ava immediately removed herself from the situation.

“She got back in her car and left,” Rain said. “That was the smartest thing she could’ve done.”

Law enforcement was called, but the man allegedly refused to leave the property, prompting a significant escalation.

“They had to bring in SWAT,” Rain said. “They literally had to break in and pull him out.”

Because the house was located along a canal, additional agencies were involved.

Rain revealed that the Coast Guard was part of the response, and the aftermath extended well beyond the day of the incident. “For a whole week I was talking to FBI detectives,” she said.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Rain said the darker side of viral fame is rarely acknowledged.

“Everyone always talks about the money,” she said. “But nobody talks about this part.”

“That was terrifying,” she added. “It really changes how you see everything.”
