Kim Kardashian Ignores PETA Backlash With Her Kids And Their Puppies Post

Kim Kardashian isn't letting the naysayers get to her.

The doting mom shared moments of her kids having fun with their Christmas presents. She gifted each of her four kids a pomeranian puppy last Christmas and happily shared cute moments of the kids playing with their pets.

Kim Kardashian came under backlash for this act of motherly love from PETA, amongst other fans. The animal rights organisation's founder claimed that she should have considered adopting animals from the shelters instead.

Kardashian captured sweet moments of her kids playing with their new pets. She uploaded these clips to her Instagram stories after she recently faced heat for simply gifting her four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, the pomeranians for Christmas. 

One clip showed Chicago holding one of the puppies and giving it kisses while Psalm spoke about racing with the puppies in the background. The following Instagram story update showed the two kids playing, laughing, and running on all fours with the puppies.

A sweet, humorous moment was captured as Chicago gleefully played with a puppy who tried to take nibbles at her hair, bringing Kardashian, who held two other puppies, to a laugh.

After introducing the newest additions to her pet family with a simple photo announcement and a caption that read "Each kid got a puppy," the media spiralled. Animal welfare advocates, including the founder of PETA, Ingrid Newkirk, had things to say about the reality star's move.

She expressed that it was a shame for Kardashian to pass up the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter puppies. Siding with the critics, she added that the backlash Kardashian was facing on social media was fair.

Newkirk also called out the iconic star, referring to the dogs as plushies, saying "Puppies are not plushies," before adding that she could make amends by having her kids volunteer at a local shelter.

Besides Newkirk, whose point of view of criticism was focused on supporting homeless animals, fans came at the reality star's for other reasons.

The Blast shared that part of Kardashian's online fanbase voiced that pets should not be casual gifts, as taking care of them would be a handful of responsibilities. 

Other fans warned that each kid having their own dogs might not be the best, as it could weaken the bond between siblings and their pets.

A few years ago, social media users called Kardashian out for not providing adequate living spaces for her dogs at the time. This came after North shared a video showing the dogs living in a garage.

Last Christmas was eventful for the iconic model, even up to Christmas photos for her socials. She shared her failed attempts to capture all the kids properly in one frame on her Instagram, writing, "I really tried."

The photo dump showed the two younger ones quite cooperative, posing beside her throughout, while North and Saint were the opposite. As reported by The Blast, North's face wasn't even captured in any of the photos, and the ones where she featured showed her walking away from the scenes. 

Saint, on the other hand, kept a straight face in the photos he appeared in, except in one slide where he lightly put on a smile. However, the West kids were dressed to a T, rocking their bold wardrobe choices alongside their mother.

A lot of negatives rolled through the year for the reality TV star, from her business, her career as a lawyer, to her romantic ordeals. A Big L for Kardashian was failing the California bar exam as it hit her hard despite the work she put into studying.

Her relationship with her kids' father, Kanye West, also continued to grow sour as they had more public arguments and disagreements during the year. She also faced some failed attempts at building a romantic life.

The Blast shared that Kardashian had expressed her fears for 2026, following the same negative path or being worse.
