As Mary Cosby once said, "If you come for me, I will send Jesus after you."
On Sunday, January 4, 2026, the "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star finally broke her silence after TLC released an explosive three-part docuseries accusing the Utah native of running a cult.
In the docuseries, Mary Cosby and her husband, who is also her step-grandfather, were accused of physical and financial abuse, demanding free labor from congregants, and extramarital affairs.
Horrifying Allegations Were Made Against Mary Cosby In A New Docuseries About Her Church

TLC's "The Cult of the Real Housewife" aired on January 1, 2026, and offered a deep dive not only into Cosby and her husband, Robert, but also into the allegations that the church is a cult.
Fans of the show know that Cosby's church, Faith Temple Pentecostal, has been the subject of scrutiny for years after an audio clip of Cosby condemning her congregation for being poor surfaced online.
In the production, Cosby's family members and former churchgoers opened up about their alleged experiences under the "RHOSLC" star's leadership. One former member claimed that Cosby and her husband pressured the church into giving large sums of money at "heave offerings."
"We could’ve just had a heave offering meeting, and then in another week or two, we’re having another meeting where we’re being told there’s an emergency and they need $100,000. They need it by Thursday. The worst announcement you could hear when you walked into that church is, ’Tell everybody don’t leave. We need to have an emergency saints meeting.’ You knew it was going to be about money," the member said.
Family Member Alleges Mary Cosby Had An Affair With A Member Of The Church

At another point in the series, Cosby's first cousin, Dan Cosby, alleged that the TV personality once had an affair with a church member named Cameron Williams. Williams was featured on previous episodes of "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City," in which he spoke poorly of Cosby and the church.
In the docuseries, Dan said that Williams once told him that Mary allegedly invited him over to her house, and after arriving, she took his hand and began "rubbing her." Dan later alleged that Cameron told him that he "put his hand in her vagina."
Another member, Ernest Enoch, claimed that Williams shared details regarding his alleged affair with Cosby with him. "[Williams] said, 'Me and Mary had an affair,'" Enoch told producers. "I said, this is crazy ... these people are ministers. They’re supposed to be preaching."

In a clip shared on Instagram, Cosby showcased photos of herself and her "RHOSLC" castmates, along with scenes from the show. She seemingly responded to the claims made against her in the TLC docuseries via the caption, writing, "#godfirst #love #you #blessed #don't believe the lies. Happy Sunday!!"
Fans responded in support of the Bravo veteran, with one writing, "Yeah, that was all a scheme set up by Todd. We love you, Mary!! Keep walking in the light. The fruit of the Spirit just happens to be Chanel."
Another user wrote, "We love you, girl!" before questioning where the Jen Shah documentary was. "That should've been first!"
A third user added, "I refused to watch the foolishness. Clearly, it's driven by jealousy. Love you, Mary and praying that God will give you peace in the storm that passeth all understanding."
Other Users Express Their Disappointment In Cosby

Meanwhile, users on Reddit expressed a range of feelings, slamming the reality star for her alleged mistreatment of her church members. "It would be one thing if she's shown us on TV to be the opposite of everything that the documentary is accusing her of, but literally everything is 100% believable just based on the person she has been on TV," one user wrote.
Another user said plainly, "I am believing it all, Mary," while a third added, "This is so like Mary to claim everything is a lie. Mary, you were kicked out of the church before your grifter gramps offered you money and comfort in exchange for being his church pastor. You're thirsty and pretended to be indoctrinated into a bad situation."
Cosby Has Previously Denied The Claims She's Running A Cult

Cosby has previously denied the claims that she's running a cult, according to The Blast. In a previous interview, she claimed that her church has had to navigate outrageous rumors before, but that they shouldn't be taken seriously.
"They say that about pretty much every church," she said. "It's no cult. I was taught church should be a place where love always flows."
She continued, "The people who know me - my church members — they know those are false allegations."
