Victoria Jones Was A 'Problem Child' Before She Died, A Police Source Says

Tommy Lee Jones' late daughter, Victoria Jones, seemingly faced some challenges in the months leading up to her death at age 34, with a cop even going as far as labeling her a "problem child."
According to the New York Post, a senior San Francisco police officer who has handled her case in the past claimed she has had several run-ins with the law during which she appeared to be high on drugs.
In fact, the officer suspected that she likely overdosed on drugs laced with fentanyl when she was found dead by paramedics.
"It was most likely fentanyl-related. People get all their drugs with fentanyl now. They [drug dealers] have it on everything they measure with, everything gets laced," the officer shared.
Although the cause of her death is still under investigation, reports suggest there were no signs of foul play, and no drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, nor was there any indication that Victoria's death was a suicide.
An Emergence Call Was Made For A Suspected Overdose, 'Color Change'

It is suspected that Victoria indeed died from a drug overdose, as audio clips obtained by TMZ revealed that the call for the incident came in as a "code 3 for the overdose, color change."
According to reports, she was found dead on the 14th floor by a hotel guest, who believed she had passed out from drinking.
A source told the Daily Mail that the guest then alerted the staff, who called for an ambulance and tried to administer CPR.
When paramedics finally arrived at the scene at about 3:15 am, they declared her dead.
The Actress Has Been Arrested For Drug-Related Issues Before

Victoria has had a few run-ins with the law, as she was arrested a total of three times last year, with one of them being for drug-related issues.
Court records, per the New York Post, show that she was arrested in Napa County back in April for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, and obstructing a peace officer.
She was also arrested in May and again in June, for offenses relating to domestic battery and domestic violence/elder abuse. However, Victoria was released on bail.

Meanwhile, questions have been raised as to whether or not she was a guest in the luxury Fairmont Hotel, or if she was visiting.
However, the organization has released a statement saying they're "actively cooperating" with cops as investigations continue into the cause of her death.
"We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time," press director Michelle Heston told People Magazine.
The source continued, "The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation."
Tommy Lee Jones Joked He 'Fired' Victoria In An Old Interview

In a resurfaced interview with The New Yorker, Victoria's legendary father Tommy joked about how he "fired" her from set because she didn't want to get out of bed for an early call time.
At the time, the "Men in Black II" star, who shared the late actress with his first wife, photographer Kimberlea Cloughley, spoke highly of her acting chops as he revealed she appeared in the film "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" and showed promising signs.
"She's a good actress, has her SAG card, speaks impeccable Spanish," Tommy said, explaining that her childhood seemingly helped her language skills, as he'd told her nurse to only speak with her in Spanish.
"She had to get up at 5 a.m. for her part," he recalled. "One morning, she wouldn't get out of bed. I said, 'Honey, this is work.' But she wouldn't budge. So I fired her."
However, it wasn't long before she rejoined the set thanks to a production staff member going behind Tommy's back to alert Victoria.
"Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time," he explained.
