The Blast shared that the couple's kids, Nick and Romy, were also at the home with Rob and Michele while they hosted their pal. Markowitz explained that the couple carried on with their respective businesses while he was there, and he may have been one of the last people to interact with them.
The cinematographer spoke about Romy and Nick, stressing that Nick seemed to be doing well despite his lengthy years of drug and substance abuse. He added that Nick acted pretty normally around everyone and even helped with chores around the house.
Markowitz added that Nick also enjoyed dinner with the family, just like his sister, Romy, who often popped by to grab a meal and spend time with the legends.

The Blast shared that the couple reportedly opened their doors to cops at least six times over the past decade in visits that ran through 2013 to December 14, 2025, when they were discovered dead. A source noted that the checks ranged from reports of alleged family incidents, welfare checks, and mental health evaluations.
In 2017, officers reportedly responded to a call indicating a battery of family violence investigation, although details of this particular visit have remained under wraps. In 2019, officers were allegedly called to the property twice.
