Britney Spears is done hiding her truth. Days after Christmas, a source shared that the mother of two was "really hurt" by her son, Preston, who reportedly rejected her holiday invitation to instead spend the day with his aunt, Jamie Lynn Spears, and his grandmother, Lynne Spears. Britney seemed to address the situation with a sarcastic Instagram post, wishing her "beautiful family who have never disrespected me" a Merry Christmas. All of this, of course, comes months after Britney's ex, Kevin Federline, released a memoir and accused the Princess of Pop of shocking misconduct.
Britney Spears Reportedly 'Really Hurt' By Son Preston After The Christmas Holiday

According to Us Weekly, Britney was excited about spending time with her two boys, Preston and Jayden, on Christmas Day.
However, instead of a family reunion, the celebration remained divided, as a source revealed Preston "chose not" to attend.
The source revealed that Britney was "really hurt" by her son's decision. "She tried to convince him, but he wasn’t ready to meet her halfway," the insider added.

Instead, Preston spent the recent holiday with his aunt, Jamie Lynn Spears, and his grandmother, Lynne Spears, in Louisiana. According to the source, "Preston feels really comfortable with his grandmother and his cousins and family in Louisiana."
Meanwhile, Britney and Jayden spent the Christmas holiday together at her California home. "She had an amazing time with Jayden on Christmas," the source shared. "They laughed a lot and bonded more than they have in a while."
In addition to enjoying a "really delicious glazed ham," Britney and Jayden listened to music, watched movies, and spent time with close family friends. "It was a really beautiful and memorable time," the source added. "It deepened their connection."
Kevin Federline Included Shocking Allegations About The Singer In His Book

This isn't the first time details about Britney's allegedly strained relationship with her sons have been made public.
Most recently, her ex, Federline, included horrifying allegations about the mother in his memoir, "You Thought You Knew."
In the book, Federline accused the "Toxic" singer of mistreating their boys due to her alleged mental health struggles. He also claimed that their sons once found her standing in their doorway with a knife.
Federline alleged that, over time, Britney's boys stopped visiting her and eventually became estranged. "Every visit seemed to end with her yelling about something," Federline wrote. "The boys just didn’t want to deal with it anymore."
Federline Says The Boys Are Reconnecting With Britney Spears

Despite the pain, Federline recently opened up about Britney's evolving relationship with Preston and Jayden, clarifying that they're trying to "mend a bond."
"They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will," he said. "It's instilled in them. And I've always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom."
Federline addressed the suggestion that his memoir would harm his sons' relationship with their mother, explaining that he believes the opposite is true.
"We've tried every single thing. And when you're dealing with a situation like this, if I have to be the bad guy and everybody has to hate me, well, so be it. I'll do that for my kids to be able to have a relationship with their mother," he said.
Preston Reportedly 'Very Committed' To Working On His Relationship With His Mother

Federline's statements align with the source, who stated that both Britney and Preston are "very committed" to "making strides with healing their relationship."
"They still go through some hard times because of the falling out," the insider added. "Preston feels isolated sometimes when he’s around her, and they’re working through that."
The source further explained that since the boys turned 18, their relationship with their mother has improved, as they can now decide how to move forward on their own time.
"They’re free to live the way they want, and that’s been a blessing for Britney. It’s now up to her and the boys on how their relationship develops. No one else is in control of that. The boys also understand more now on an emotional level of what Britney’s actually been through," they said.
