During her latest interview with Fox News' Shannon Bream on "Fox News Sunday," Erika gave a candid description of her spiritual life in the wake of her husband's death.

According to the widow, her conversation with God hasn't dwindled despite Charlie's tragic demise, and she hasn't spent any time questioning God over why it all happened to her.

"Quite frankly, they're kind of the same," the mother of two said when Bream inquired about her faith, per the New York Post.

"I've never questioned, 'Why me?' I always knew that my life was not just to be lived for me," she continued.

Adding to the conversation, Erika also noted that her late husband shared the same belief about having a special purpose on Earth.

Despite her conversations with God not having dwindled, there are some new dynamics to them in light of her current situation as a widow.

Much of this may include conversations about the weight of her new responsibilities as a single mother. Additionally, dealing with the pain of losing Charlie is also part of it, and Erika says she is turning to God even more for strength to help her navigate it all.

"I talk to God, like I said, the same way: 'God, use me, God, heal my heart. You know my pain, you know the depths of my pain. Walk through this with me," she shared.

The former Miss Arizona is also well aware that she will need support from like-minded individuals moving forward, and she is trusting God to make everything fall into place.

As for her new role as the CEO of TPUSA, Erika is trusting "God's will" as her compass and nothing else.

"I don't want anything outside of God's will. I do not," she told her host. "Anything outside of the jet streams of God's will, I will not even touch it with a 10-foot pole."

Erika appears to have found her footing, reflected in her frequent media appearances and her ongoing participation in scheduled events, including AmericaFest, which she attended in December.

This development is unsurprising, as the mother of two had earlier pledged to carry on the group's mission during a speech delivered following Charlie's death, per AP News.

She said, "The movement my husband built will not die," and also promised to take it to new heights.

"I promise I'll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen," Erika vowed.

Amid her increased media appearances, Erika has faced backlash from online critics for several reasons.

One of the most viral moments was her emotional hug with Vice President JD Vance at a TPUSA event, which some claimed was disrespectful to her late husband.

Although she later clarified that physical touch is her "love language," the explanation did little to stem the criticism, particularly from commentators such as Joy Reid.

The former MSNBC personality claimed the vice president might leave his wife, Usha Vance, for Erika, and that it would be the "perfect MAGA fairytale."

Additional criticism has focused on the attire the mother of two has worn to events hosted by her nonprofit organizations.

Some have argued that Erika's outfits are not somber enough for someone in mourning and have continued to question her fashion choices.

Similarly, other critics have expressed displeasure over Erika's continued media appearances, arguing that she should instead be at home mourning and caring for her children.
