She described the physical and emotional toll her cousin endured: "I watched her fight for her life for years, dealing with cardiovascular issues and blood clots and different kinds of things that were happening to her body, and fighting back and then falling back, and just the challenges because there's a lot of mental challenges she was facing as well..."
She also emphasized that obesity isn't just an individual issue, but one that affects many in her family, including herself. Latifah explained that if raising awareness and providing information can help even one person, it's worth doing.
